ADHD Dad
Once I was owned by a tiny bakery.

Re-intro time:
Hi! I’m Jeff; an unconventional poet/Dad from the Canadian prairies. I have 2 adult kids, 2 rescue dogs, & have been madly in love w/ the same lowkey juggernaut since the 1900s.
I'm owned by a tiny bakery & I lived w/ ADHD 45yrs before discovering it. I'm probably bad at hide-&-seek.
I'm been pondering something lately. This isn't meant to be a 'gotcha,' but rather something that seemed profound to me, and now has me considering my own context/the lived experience that has led to this realization and why I am like this.

The thought is this:
Efficiency is not a Virtue.

Baseball brings people together because it's designed for every attention span. You can watch on TV and look up every time you miss the action and watch a 15 sec replay. The whole game is 7 min. You can also be absorbed by a game and when it abruptly ends with a double play you're 20 years older.

I'm sitting in a long line of vehicles, in the middle of the city, waiting for an even longer freight train to pass, and song #197 on my ultra-long road trip playlist starts to play, thinking about how it's been a really long time since I've sat in a long train line listening to Beat It.
