Up and began our discontent again and sorely angered my wife, who indeed do live very lonely, but I do perceive that it is want of work that do make her and all other people think of ways of spending their time worse.

This time last year we learned that the homeless population was living in such dire circumstances they experienced rare lice infections were so bad they were transmitted to organ donation recipients. What did we do after that to respond to human beings in those conditions?
Yikes: A tuberculosis outbreak has been declared in inner-city Edmonton. 12 people have gotten sick this year. Two recently confirmed in October, suggesting it's spread.

I would love to see a code of conduct for elected officials that has something similar to the lawyers' obligation to speak and criticize the justice system without undermining respect for it. This piece treats the unbelievable language from elected leaders as normal, and that's a problem. Wab Kinew

Cannot express enough appreciation for the teams *flying through a hurricane* while not being paid.
NOAA hurricane hunters flying aboard a P-3 Orion aircraft ("Kermit") are monitoring Hurricane Melissa as most aircraft steer clear. The storm poses a catastrophic threat to Jamaica and Haiti.

The crew are among the many federal workers working without pay during the US government shutdown.

After the FBI denied "children were zip-tied or hit with rubber bullets" in a raid in Wilder, Idaho, the FBI said no "young" children were.

The people at my polling station were so sweet, and working so hard, and it is extremely frustrating that their day, and the day of everyone waiting to vote, was made worse by a requirement that seems to serve no discernable purpose and solves no problem.
