They raided the jailed children to steal their letters.

The problem, in federal officials' minds, wasn't confining children in prison-camp conditions; it was that the children could tell the public about it.
“I don’t want to be in this place I want to go to my school.”

- 7 year old imprisoned by ICE for 70 days in a concentration camp in Texas.

Today, after @propublica.org published this story, the camp was raided to confiscate letters from the children.

I understand framing the AI bubble RAM supply crisis in terms of stuff like video game consoles because nerds can conceptualize that but the framing does really undersell the sheer magnitude of how it's going to fuck up everything that even touches a computer.

25 years ago today, "ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US" appeared on Newgrounds.
The line comes from the opening sequence of the Mega Drive version of Zero Wing.

Two titans of film died today. One, Robert Duvall, was a consummate character star, able to play good (Boo), evil (Col. Kilgore) and all the complexities in between. The other Frederick Wiseman, was simply the greatest observer of the human species in the history of the cinema. Which is to say ever.

The impact of Frederick Wiseman on nonfiction filmmaking was seismic beyond measure and beyond compare. Like how do you even begin to consider his influence on documentary technique or his decades of insight into how institutions (and artistic spaces) operate? What a treasure. R.I.P.

50 new games a day on Steam. 350 per week. 18,000+ per year (as of 2 years ago).

Regardless of the quality of each individual title, that is an absolute mountain of new games that the market cannot possibly support.
I know it's meant in good faith but "if we just made smaller scope games and charged 20-40 dollars for them it would fix the industry" is very funny to me. indies release like 20 of those a week on steam. are you buying them? is the industry fixed? no? hm. sounds like you need a different solution

There is no song in this world that I dislike more than “Making It Work” by Doug and the Slugs – and the frequency with which it is played on Canadian radio stations trying to fulfill their CanCon quotas is a large part of that hatred. Yeccch…

When watching an old movie or TV show (even music videos), my wife will – without fail – tell me the horrible way in which some actor or person who had something to do with the production died offscreen. Always with the most twisted trivia without fail.

It’s one of the many reasons why I love her ❤️

And there goes one of the last vestiges of storied Canadian film distributor Alliance Films. Closes to become a gym on Tuesday…

The Beach Cinemas opened in 1999 and was our go-to multiplex for most of high school. Certainly good news for The Fox, but sad to see it go!

US Troops killed all the guards at Dachau for this kind of shit.
On Thanksgiving, the immigrant children held at the Dilley detention center gathered in the gym for what they thought was a holiday feast.

The kids salivated over a spread of turkey, sandwiches, pastries and pies, a family told me.

But the food wasn’t for detainees — it was for the staff.
