Visuals for this game are fucking insane it's actually so beautiful, here's what i could find abt the art team

art direction from Adam Volker, concepts from Ysabel Li and Vash Taylor, tech art/effects by Fiona Jeeva, environmental art by Thomas Fraser (links to portfolios below)
kudos to the team that worked on Ambrosia Sky for the "make things wet" shader. it's really fun to watch surfaces dry. Yes I'm spraying a corpse

One day they’ll bring back Majel Barrett I guess? She recorded thousands and thousands of lines before she passed for the explicit purpose of using her voice.

LOVE this Canadian Game Awards video showcasing the vast creativity of Canadian devs, from bigger titles like Ubisoft Quebec's Assassin's Creed Shadows and @compulsiongames.bsky.social's South of Midnight to indies like @softrains.bsky.social's Ambrosia Sky & @exnilostudio.bsky.social's Strand. 🇨🇦 🎮

Hypothetically, are you allowed to say that folks who defend or excuse child abusers and rapists should be steamrolled instead? What type of machinery is acceptable?

Just fucking insane to see the absolute (intentional) collapse of full remote jobs available for AAA studios in so short a time. Why would I EVER move for a job again when I could be laid off weeks after moving my entire life across the globe??

GOOD NEWS!!!

We're almost ready to become a real city!
The neighbourhood retail report as amended CARRIES 23-2.

Toronto Council votes to permit corner stores in all Old Toronto & East York wards, and expands permission for retail on some (but not all) major streets city-wide.

Here's my review for Ambrosia Sky: Act One. Not a lot of coverage for this one (only three reviews on Metacritic, and it doesn't even have a page on OpenCritic), but it's definitely worth checking out.

Ambrosia Sky: Act One combines its sci-fi setting with intergalactic cleaning to tell a poignant and contemplative story about dying alone in deep space.

Hey @startrektnc.bsky.social love hearing Firefly get covered on the pod! If other sci-fi shows eventually get the TNC treatment I’d love to hear your take on The Expanse. Showrunner Naren Shankar wrote some solid Trek episodes!

GTA6 stands to be not just the most expensive game ever made, but perhaps the most expensive entertainment product of all time, with a budget closer to that of the Space Programme than a piece of software, exceeding anything thats ever happened in cinema

I recently moved, but our old place near Pape & Danforth had the following within 60 seconds of our front door:

1) Wang's Variety - Classic mom & pop convenience store
2) The Shmooz - Incredible neighbourhood cafe and bottle shop
3) One Night Only Pizza - Some of the best 'za in the east end

TIL that a giant TERRIFYING ELEPHANT BUILDING used to dominate the Coney Island landscape in the late 1800s. It started as a hotel, very quickly became a brothel, and eventually burned down under mysterious circumstances. The dude who built it thought animal bldgs were the future of architecture.

However, tipping off notorious serial pedophiles about other reporters is absolutely fine.

Similar sentiments are also routinely directed at the countless, horrifyingly large number of video game developers who've been laid off over the past few years.

"Just start your own video game studio!"
People keep saying this and let me tell you, as one of way too many freelancers without a steady job, it is annoying!
