Protest wear- AI confusing clothing or mask, long sleeves to cover skin & tats, mask/respirator, sunglasses or goggles, hat or helmet, boots & comfortable pants, no cellphone, a film or spray over your license plates or walk/bike/carpool. This is basic stuff. People who remember Floyd protest know

A Minnesota woman observing ICE agents in her car was cornered on one-way streets. An agent approached, called her by name—citing facial recognition. Days later, her Global Entry and TSA privileges were revoked, with no explanation.

This is where all the energies of this criminal syndicate of an administration will be going for the rest of the year: in doing everything they can to screw up Midterms 2026 under the guise of relitigating Election 2020. They know they’ll be going to jail, and they’re terrified.

New Watch List post is up with a bunch of streaming movie recommendations, some relevant to the moment and others proudly escapist.
What to Watch: "Mr. Nobody Against Putin" and more
A startling documentary from inside Russia, plus two streaming recommendations, one must-avoid and a celebration of Brazil's director-of-the-moment.

Ossoff: "This is a seismic event. This should have people across the country absolutely shook. This is a huge deal. This is an FBI raid on the Fulton County Elections office ... This is a shot across the bow at the midterm elections. He tried to steal power when he lost it in 2020."

Bari Weiss just hired a dog phrenologist.
In response to announcement that he will be a new CBS contributor, Andrew Huberman tweeted “I’ve always gone issue-by-issue on health & science, spoken to experts w/a range of takes & presented where I see the center of (data) mass pointed. I’ll do the same with @CBSNews”. In Sept he posted this:

A reminder that @ayannapressley.bsky.social's bill is necessary if we're ever going to get past all this. (Love my MA reps.)
There's no ICE accountability without ending qualified immunity.

They're murdering people. There won't be justice for the lives they've stolen, but there must be accountability.

My bill with @markey.senate.gov would ensure families can sue the agents murdering their loved ones.

This is SUCH an important point!

Feckless liberals in leadership positions gave the impression that none of us cared about anything deeply except for our careers. Ordinary people are proving this wrong.

If I’m not mistaken, a charismatic leader is exactly why we’re up shit creek now.
Two things I think we are sorely missing that could really make a difference for removing felon Trump and his regime: 1. A charismatic leader to unite us, 2. A large-scale means to coordinate our resistance across national to local scale.

A lot of Dems are going to take Bovino and Noem being fired as the finish line, and it's very important to make it clear to them that it is a starting line

My fear is that this has rapidly become normalized. Like, do people know that Pretti is among the seven that ICE has murdered this month? Yes, there are others besides him and Good.

And Good? Almost fading away from memory.

The biggest risk in this moment is something sociologists call “symbolic compliance.”

That’s when an institution that is violating civil rights gives the public just enough symbolic victories that accountability efforts lose steam before there has been any meaningful change.

I'm going to say a couple of things about Alex Pretti's handgun, that I don't think people who do not shoot will initially understand.

This photo was almost immediately distributed by the feds. I think that doing so was, for them and their attempt to whitewash the murder, a *huge* error.

Wow! This read-along of the NYT moment-by-moment leading to the murder of Alex Pretti should shake everyone awake. He was a Good Samaritan.

Agents fired at least ten shots in roughly five seconds. DHS and Pam Bondi claim Pretti approached them armed and intent on a “massacre.”

HOW IT WORKS IN MOVIES:

1. Government lies

2. Brave heroes release video showing the truth

3. Press says “the government is lying!”

HOW IT APPARENTLY WORKS IN REAL LIFE

2. Government lies

3. Press says “Oh no, what now? So confusing! So hard!”
