Trump: "I want the money to go into an account for people where they buy their own health insurance. It's so good. The insurance will be better. It'll cost less. Everybody is gonna be happy. They're gonna feel like entrepreneurs. They're actually able to go out & negotiate their own insurance"

Just had an argument with someone who is disappointed that Kim Davis' attempt to overturn marriage equality failed because they wanted people like me to lose our marriages in order to galvanize "a more radical queer movement."
Oh, and because gay marriage is just "capitalist fascism," or something.

I’ve read a few articles on why Dems caved. I kind of get the strategy to pressure the GOP but ONLY if you send out folks with the rhetorical skills & discipline of Jasmine Crockett or Zohran to hammer the message home.
The Dems seem to have selected Tim Kaine for this role. GTFOH

Okay Adrian!! Dropping knowledge with heat like napalm.
This entire exchange highlights what we're dealing with in America. Folks expect Dems to instantly fix everything the GOP breaks without giving Dems the adequate numbers to do instant fixes.

Because there have only been six(!) non-consecutive(!) months(!) since Carter(!) when the GOP couldn't obstruct everything!
Six months of progress, 44.5 years of obstruction or worse.
And building is always harder than destroying.

It really does seem like there's a decent chance that these senators screwed us because they don't want their personal Thanksgiving plans to be disrupted.
Anyway a great way to radicalize people is for them to realize that you just abandoned their chance at being able to access and afford health care because you didn’t like waiting in line at the airport.

Another point of view on the politics happening tonight, with an emphasis on the House.
Folks, we need to have a little Civics #101 chat, because apparently the media no longer seems fit to explain to you whats happening.
So quick review:
The House passed a clean CR.
The senate has not passed anything.

Important thread on what’s going down TONIGHT!!
Following up on this. This remains a ‘cave is minutes or hours away’ situation. If you want to impact how this plays out you need to contact senators literally now. I want to add additional points of context. What I’m relaying is what I’ve picked up from highly reliable sources.
Sounds like the squishes in the senate caucus are ready to pull the plug with no ACA changes. This is real. If you want to register your opinion you shld call yr senator in the next hour. They not only want to reopen w/nothing. They want cover from their colleagues who still want to hold out.
