This is true and I was the only one on set excited about it (and playing the song on my phone to blank stares)
Just watched the new Knives Out and I think it's really important you know that the scene in the Seminary's Gym is filmed in the same place Rick Astley filmed the music video for Never Gonna Give You Up.

I saw the window tracery and immediately made my friends pause the film so I could tell them.

Interesting to look at this.

-Yes
-Lost job due to “federal govt funding cuts”.
-Lubo is still with us but the struggles are getting too real.
-Was able to generally be more active in 2025, even if the dizziness continues
- I really don’t know what to do about mini-biz
My plans for 2025:
- Comedy trips to Vancouver (March) and Alberta(April)
- Keep working at my job unless there is a Pollievre govt and they will slash our funding and I will have to find new work.
- Care for my elderly dog friend who at 15-18yo, we don’t know how long he will be with us.

Glass onion: the new elite are the stupidest murderous cunts alive and deserve your scorn

I nearly bumped into Joshua Jackson as he exited a Subway.
Right folks. Feeling rather down at the moment so bringing back an oldie

something very important for Dems to realize is that the tech overlords are not people you can win back by promising a lighter touch and saying a few nice things

they’ve gotten a taste of mask-off fascism and they are not going back, they don’t want to play nice with the peons anymore
There’s a funny Politico story showing that the latest polling on AI shows 80-20 in favor of heavy regulations, an absolute slam dunk platform, but Dems are worried about not winning back mask-off tech CEO donors

So since I was laid off from my job, there's always been something next. My brother was visiting. I didn't need to worry because I had some severance. I was going to the UK. It was Christmas market season for the mini biz. I had contract work to do over the holidays.

Eat those treats. Use those office supplies. Burn those candles.
Did you get something really *nice* for Christmas? Are you saving it?

STOP

Eat it. Slather yourself in it. Spray it on a random wfh Tuesday. Use it next time you have a meal. Make up an occasion and use it.

Whatever it is don't hoard it until it's near its use by date or too precious.

Jon Stewart too. Sigh.
Disappointed to see Jon Stewart & co joke about masking in public. I do it for my medically fragile daughter (Batten Disease). People not masking properly led to her getting pneumonia, which led to her being on life support, which led to me getting price quotes on her cremation just in case.

The "can't say no" shit is already cause enough to drown the developers in the river, but note how the AI "girlfriend" always looks about 15 or 16 years old. I'm sure that's a total coincidence.
"And I never say no"

We need to have a serious talk about the way "AI companion" apps not only prey on the vulnerable, but are priming their users to ignore consent and to conflate love with control.

We need AI regulations across so many sectors, but this area is particularly horrifying.

You won't hear many fond remembrances of Bridget Bardot coming from the Arctic. Her activism caused hardship, poverty and death here. On top of that, she was super racist. I highly recommend watching the documentary Angry Inuk to learn more about that history.

Are Canadians still boycotting the US? I have no plans to go there, even though Alaska is so close and one of the few drive destinations. I see a lot more trips there nowadays. I can’t say I have the same aversion to US grocery products. If I have a choice I’ll go elsewhere, but I won’t abstain.
