The Canada Olympic Comittee announces that it will reveal the women’s Olympic hockey roster on Friday at 3:30 pm ET at the COC HQ in Toronto.

Going to be interesting given Canada's recent struggles

Celtic FC have fired former Columbus Crew and CF Montréal manager after just eight matches in charge, of which he lost six.

Columbus already confirmed Henrik Rydström as their new head coach six days ago — wonder if they jumped the gun on that...

Team Canada will play Finland for bronze at the World Juniors tomorrow after that insane loss to Czechia.

The first time since 2012-2014 that Canada has missed the gold medal game in three consecutive years.

Only once before have they missed three straight podiums.
January 5, 2026 at 4:28 AM
So many terrible penalties by this Canadian team tonight.

And it's going to cost them.
January 5, 2026 at 4:25 AM
Czechia goal. With 1:14 to go.

No Mason McTavish goalline clearance moments there.

Wow. 5-4 for Czechia.
January 5, 2026 at 4:22 AM
TIE GAME! The captain, Porter Martone, with 2:41 to go in the game!

This bonkers semifinal is back level at 4-4.

Absolutely wild game of hockey.
January 5, 2026 at 4:19 AM
Oh man. Michael Misa to the box for the hand pass.

Czechia right back to the advantage, and a 4v3 one at that.
Canada takes a silly penalty late in the third period and then Czechia takes a bench minor for too many men.

Canada looking for a goal. This game has been absolutely bonkers.

Comeback in the cards? 1:12 of 4v4, then Canada on the PP.

What a wild period.

3-2 for Czechia after Canada made it 2-2 + that trip on the penalty shot before a save on Michael Hage — stellar gamesmanship from Michal Orsulak to stop it.

All to play for in the final 20.

Norwich City FC confirm the transfer of Ali Ahmed from Vancouver Whitecaps FC through 2029.

Going to be interesting to see if he can help them avoid relegation this season and whether they sell him, Josh Sargent and others if they go down.
January 5, 2026 at 12:02 AM
A busy day on the Canadian transfer front.

- Ali Ahmed at Carrow Road for Norwich vs Stoke.

- Dayne St. Clair to Inter Miami becomes official.

- Emil Gazdov to FC St. Pauli from CF Montréal on loan through June.

NEW: Ali Ahmed is heading overseas to join Norwich City in the relegation battle of England's second tier.

A new challenge for him to lead a young group + establish himself in Europe after teenaged stints in Portugal & England

Switzerland's Camille Rast won her first World Cup race today in Kranjska Gora and dedicated it to the victims of the Crans-Montana New Year's.

Not a good start to the new year for Jonathan David as he misses a Panenka penalty with a chance to put a Juventus up 2-1 on Lecce.

Weston Mckennie had the 1-1 goal, David played decoy for the #USMNT midfielder.

Norwich City is not a bad move for Ali Ahmed, but I'm surprised he's leaving the Vancouver Whitecaps for a new club before the World Cup.

USMNT striker Josh Sargent is battling for a World Cup spot there and will get a pretty good 1v1 attacker as they look to avoid relegation.

A tidy first period for Team Canada in their World Juniors quarterfinal, up 5-0 after the first period against Slovakia.

For the first time since winning in 2023, Canada should be playing for a medal at the World Juniors.

Medal games Monday.

A stunning finish to this one as Team USA crashes out of their home World Junior Championships in the quarterfinals

A 4-3 OT loss to Finland.

Just as Canada did at the 2019 World Juniors in Vancouver.

Named to Team Canada's Olympic men's hockey roster yesterday, Bo Horvat left today's Islanders game hobbling off after getting tied up with Sean Durzi.

No immediate update, and he'll see a doctor tomorrow.

Worrying for sure.
