The Pluto tv app has a whole roster of MTV channels that just play videos 24/7 and fuck is it fantastic. Not as good as MuchMusic back in the day, but still pretty awesome.

I spotted this on Mastodon and I find it horrible, not least for the speed with which this has happened.
A post on Mastodon by small cypress (@small_cypress@indieweb.social): As an art teacher I was worried AI would come up as an issue of "why should I learn how to draw when I can use AI instead." But the real issue is that my middle schoolers CONSTANTLY believe all art I show them is AI. Digital art. Photography. Oil paintings from the Western canon. "A human couldn't do that" Being convinced that humans can't make great art is kind of terrifying

I remain convinced that the best social media site for photographers is Tumblr. Since 2007 it displays photos in an intuitive & pleasing way. Their content moderation isn't as unfettered as it used to be but is not bad. I just wish there were more real people on there.

On this #IndigenousVeteransDay, I remember and am grateful for all who’ve served for this land we all call home. Some…for a country that didn’t even recognize them as citizens with the rights they fought to protect.

When I first joined bluesky (back in the invite code days) their content moderation was probably the best I had ever encountered on a social media website. A few months ago they switched to an ai powered moderation bot and it is now far worse than even Meta's moderation in my opinion. Just terrible.
