There's a bunch of new followers this weekend who I think clicked because of a poetry post so let me introduce myself. I'm Jeff, a Creative Director & photographer in Dirt City, Alberta. I do share poetry here but mostly my pictures (including NSFW ones), and some of my silly little thoughts.

3 ways to make your photos look more cinematic.
1. Let yourself have a dirty frame (the subject doesn't need to be front and centre and alone, other things can add to the story)
2. Embrace the shadows.
3. Shoot on actual cinema 35mm film (this one makes the biggest difference)

I downloaded a free streaming app because it has a really diverse roster of independent documentaries. Unfortunately is was complete ass. Tried to play 4 separate films and each time it played a different selection entirely. Deleted it, re-downloaded it, annnnnd same result. Boooooo.

Since the gold medal game in mixed doubles curling is on now, permit me to share that time during the sport's debut at Pyeongchang 2018 that I made a silly joke and it got featured on MSNBC's Olympic coverage and I got sooooooo many people trying to explain to me how curling works. 🥌
