It's not a new observation at this point but that wild Noem/Lewandowski story in WSJ really brings home the extent to which all the Trump 2 cabinet-level goblins see their jobs as flying private, doing short-form video, and screaming at underlings. I've got an op-ed in several papers across the Inland Empire today electrifying Metrolink service between Los Angeles and San Bernardino. It would make everyone's life a lot better and we are dumb not to do it.

Metrolink can follow Caltrain’s success and not only deliver faster, more efficient train service for the region, but give struggling cities along the line a shot in the arm.

My hottest take is that letting cops park in red zones for mundane errands and coffee breaks; I think “you can break the law at your discretion as a job perk” is the small domino that ends in the large domino of “shooting protesters in the face with rubber bullets”
