A very long and important THREAD -

The real reason the US is invading Venezuela goes back to a deal Henry Kissinger made with Saudi Arabia in 1974.

And I'm going to explain why this is actually about the SURVIVAL of the US dollar itself.

Not drugs. Not terrorism. Not "democracy." 1/

Good morning. Need coffee.

While the juice of life brews, let's catch up.

I've been many things. Veteran, teacher, CIO. Today, I'm a writer and caregiver to my wife and son.

My wife's kidney failure, started a decade ago. My son is on the spectrum.

Your last chance to see the Outsiders exhibition in its current form will be at Street Level Photoworks, Glasgow in April/May. That isn’t the end though as I’m developing a powerful new exhibition on homelessness, in collaboration with another photographer, which will be shown in Leeds in 2027.

Oh no. How ridiculous.

Show Trad Wife and the Bat some love if you can. The book is terrific and deserves its sales.
So, this happened today...

It's not great having to ask for help - but if you've enjoyed any of our books, we'd be hugely grateful if you could let people know about them (and where you can buy them)

Word of mouth is... pretty important, right now

This set of observations is produced by my scrolling Reddit and otherwise listening to people talk about "how to write."

A) there is no requirement that any of your characters has any sort of "arc" let alone a redemption.

B) there is also no requirement that your fiction has a plot.

Been trying to keep my head up with all this generated slop bullshit but man, it's really starting to get to me. I've always struggled with my confidence in my work and feeling like it (and by extension me) isn't seen, and lately it's been hard to want to talk or post about my art.

The most brutal way of telling someone they’re a few sandwiches short of a picnic that I’ve heard in French is t’es pas la truite la plus oxygénée de la rivière. It means “you’re not the most oxygenated trout in the river.”
