Im late to mocking klein's essay, but lmfao at complaining about the internal disagreement of a primary in Maine, praising internal disagreement as key, and then not saying anything about Cuomo going independent or the dems negating the Buffalo dem primary win for India Walton. Jfc, dude. Jfc.

i think i would honestly find this whole discourse more tolerable if people simply said what they were actually saying, which is that they think the Democratic Party is too associated with femininity (and secondarily, with black people) and that they want to correct this

It decreased inequality by squeezing the middle. It does not show any increase in low wage earning, just in low wage labor employment.

i find this image so fascinating. it is both a literal example of authoritarianism but also a second-hand reproduction of the aesthetics of other authoritarian states. it's like a simulacra of authoritarianism whose purpose is to attempt to make the simulacra real.

The way to separate correlation from causation is to use modern research designs like RDD or diff-in-diff. When you can compare how progressives and moderates do in elections *all else equal*, you see no effect of ideology.
