Quite a few of us were warning people about Vinay Prasad before it was cool. He might have looked like a respectable physician driven by an EBM mindset, but he was a COVID anti-vaxxer fuelled by a contrarian streak.

The "respectable" ones may be the most dangerous in terms of public health.

Missed this a few weeks ago but RFK Jr is now on the carnivore diet: all steaks, all the time (mostly).

Why?

Probably because of the Petersons.

RFK Jr. only eats meat, fermented foods. The carnivore diet, explained.
“I only eat meat or fermented foods,” the health secretary told USA TODAY's Extremely Normal show. Here's what experts say about the diet.

Ladybird is available to any aspiring drummer.
This is Ladybird. She's politely requesting butt pats. Will accept them for as long as you're willing to provide them. Could be days. Weeks even. 13/10 (TT: christina.stamper5)

SMH. Acupressure vs. FAKE acupressure on cancer-related fatigue. Both lower fatigue scores roughly the same.

Conclusion? Acupressure works! Maybe the sham one also stimulated the same nerves somehow!

I’m not a fan of AI in general: overhyped, built on stolen data, etc.

But it has its uses. If I am to believe multiple trials and @erictopol.bsky.social (who does fantastic work), radiologists find more breast cancer when aided with AI.

The main YouTube feed for me is almost completely useless now.

Very few videos are recommended; instead, it's a ton of music (I have YouTube Music), podcasts, and mixes.

I'm actually trying to find interesting videos and I can't anymore.

The U.S. regime's official nutrition website, RealFood.gov, has Grok integrated into it so that you can ask Elon Musk's artificial "intelligence" for meal advice.

This is what RFK Jr is delivering to the people: error-prone garbage, not gold-star science.

TIL that Wuthering Heights' canonical French title, Les Hauts de Hurlevent, is apparently copyrighted to a 1925 translator, so subsequent editions must use different titles.

E.g. (my translation) The House of the Damned Winds, The Tormented Heights, Castle of Storms, Bitter Mountain Bitter Wind.

I worry that folks don’t realize just how normalized this stuff is on the right at this point. Southern strategy is done, we’re back to people openly defending overt racism, and have been for a while. I think the self-denial is strong for those whose jobs depend on pretending it ain’t so.
