Relax, ai is infrastructure like railroads and they famously didn't cause a panic in the US in 1893 and dont worry about Britain in the 1840s. Actually, its the dot Com bubble and that created winners, see? Jfc.

i think i would honestly find this whole discourse more tolerable if people simply said what they were actually saying, which is that they think the Democratic Party is too associated with femininity (and secondarily, with black people) and that they want to correct this

They all want to talk about rhat Maine poll where the nazi tat guy was winning, but dont want to look at how bad Jared Golden's numbers were in that exact same poll.

I f*cling knew it was that guy from just what you wrote, not even the quote

So let them act in bad faith and expose their bad faith. "Hey, can this event happen on another day?" Is a reasonable ask by the university. And then they say no, it has to be on the 7th because *reasons* and then "fine, but you guys are obnoxious and suck" is how we all should respond to them.

You dont even have the facts right (wrong Shapiro, ffs) and I've never said a word in support of NYU's actions. But grifters should be called out for being grifters.

"The content" was your claim. None of the content of the event was related to October 7th. The goal was to grift the free speech moral panic. We should not reward bad faith acts like this with attention nor with crediting them as good faith.

It wasnt related to the content. It was a ploy. We dont agree.

It wasnt. It was a federalism society talk about his book about law schools. It was designed to create this type of reaction so they could grift about being silenced. They were using Oct 7 cynically. And NYU fell for the trap.

trump can issue as many executive orders as he wants, perhaps coverage should reflect the fact that a lot of these have the legal force of a child's wishlist for santa

Honestly this feels like a constitutional crisis.
*Powell needs to issue a quick statement pushing back.
*Will Trump try to use force to bar Cook from working?
*Assuming we get to litigation, will SCOTUS fold and go along with Trump's for "cause" rationale?

Also, his argument doesnt make sense. If the issue is impact on fair housing laws, what does it matter what the racist says or thinks?
