Did not enjoy ep 2 of academy as much as 1. Only in the US do they treat university students as “kids”. But OMG it was SO high school not how I imagine academy! They really seem to just want to do space hogwarts. And don’t get me started on betazoid eyes and telepathy. And Reno was wasted!

TWICE!
Starting to feel like the Americans might have goofed it a little with their idea to make a real dumb sack of shit the most powerful man in the world.

The situation in the US looks SO bad right now and I’m all how dangerous would it be to fly to New York for a couple days to see Jennifer Tilly on stage? Would they even let me in the country?

Seems like a pretty good writer imo.
Here's what Shakespeare actually wrote in around 1596 about the loss of a son - in King John.
In the play, the young Prince Arthur isn't dead yet, but his mother knows she will never see him again.
For me, this is far more moving and pertinent than anything in Hamnet.

If you are on NetGalley highly recommend this one!!!
Love Lethal, Death Divine is on NetGalley.
Request if you want dark fantasy with a touch of romance, Slavic folklore and political intrigue.

We have been watching TOS and TAS randomly for the past few months and for the first time I’ve been looking for Kirk/Spock and let me tell you I think those women in the 60s and 70s may have been on to something!

A warrior is not defined by the fights they have won, but by what they fight for. Stand for those less privileged, stand for the powerless, stand with your neighbors, stand for those who will come after you. Stand for honor, or you stand for nothing at all, and are worth even less.

Attempting to deport people from the land they stole! What could be more American than that?
Native Americans protested in Minneapolis today after the ICE abducted four Oglala Sioux Tribal Members. Three of them are still missing. (1/17|26)

Easily the best book I read in grade school! Read and re-read and re-read. And now I want to read it again! This post and the comments are a joy! “Denton Dere was puzzled what in the world did Angela Wexler mean by nun?”
If you are only now learning about THE WESTING GAME, written by Ellen Raskin in 1979 & winner of a Newbery Medal, find it and read it NOW.

It's the best puzzle mystery novel ever, and is illustrated and typeset by Raskin herself (who started as an illustrator and book cover designer)

Frauds was ok. Jodie looked amazing but the tone of the pacing was odd. It felt it should have been much funnier than it was. Also they *really* needed to have made them lesbians! Obvious end twist was kinda obviously coming. But Jodie looked really great!!

Non-protesting dad just trying to hustle his kids, as young as 6mo, out of the neighborhood. ICE threw a flash-bang INTO HIS car, all 6 kids in the hospital now.

If anyone wondered how things turn against occupying armies there's a case study playing out in front of you.

"And Garak's like "I will definitely fuck Bashir in it"
Heated Rivalry but it's Garak and Bashir in the middle of a group holodeck hockey program

A Tom Paris kind of 20th century otaku is like "hey guys, check out this sport they used to play before the eugenics genocide wiped out human culture"

And Garak's like "I will definitely fuck Bashir in it"

Internet, I ask for your help: can you share your favourite UK-based bookish bloggers/influencers who might be interested in reading a book about an intersex, bisexual protagonist set in a magic circus? Think The Night Circus set in a gaslight fantasy world.

Exhausted! Had a ticket to see Marina record a podcast last night but didn’t go as I only had energy for video games. Saw a pic afterwards and it 99 percent cis gay men so kinda glad I skipped that one. I’m still trepidatious about her after she did transphobic dog whistle a few years ago…
