This is so the problem. People confuse well spoken with intelligent, expertise in one domain as overall genius. This explains so much, from Elon to people’s confidence in LLMs. But the reality is that intelligence is so much more than talking real good!
The paradox of the elite is that their most sought-after quality is “smart.” But they’re mostly not smart enough to tell if someone is smart.

One consequence of this is that elite spaces are dominated by people who have learned to sound smart to non-smart people, often by saying stupid things.
and the thing that comes across from the correspondence is this guy is just a fucking gross moron! I don't mean the spelling and punctuation - there's zero content there, his grasp of everything is at best shallow and normally outright nonsense.

Welcome… to the…. Uh… resistance? Uh… MTG….?!
oh no
MTG: “.. “I am now being contacted by private security firms with warnings for my safety as a hot bed of threats against me are being fueled and egged on by the most powerful man in the world. .. The man I supported and helped get elected.”

Yup. And then actually would have to do it
i’ve said this before and i remain convinced it’s true, the 2028 platform that would deliver obama 08 results is “i am gonna
bring the hammer down on the corrupt self-dealing politicians and their rich friends and there are no sacred cows id give a pass”

Not that he didn’t already know, but now Trump knows for sure he can roll the Dems every time and there’s no need to negotiate for anything

In a normal democracy, a total collapse of party leadership would result in an no-confidence vote and immediate snap elections to find leaders who can lead

Whelp, that burst of hope sure was short lived.
Dems have spent the past two months saying they're fighting to address the crisis of spiking healthcare costs and now they're caving for a deal that does nothing to address healthcare costs ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
November 10, 2025 at 11:33 AM
This is exactly it. And even if that’s NOT the reason for the cave, the optics are sure fucking suggestive that it was.
Maybe important to note it was the disruption in air travel that Democrats couldn't stand and not, you know, 40+ million people not knowing where their next meal was coming from.

Well, at least all that research talent can be easily replaced by highly accurate, effective, and affordable LLMs, right?

Right….?

Stealing paintings from a museum? Also absolutely an art form if done correctly. It requires integration of multiple skills, creativity and, funnily enough, proficiency in tech and IT stuff to hack sensors and alarm devices.

Because they're facist 😭 i think people keep thinking I'm exaggerating when I say that but I'm not. And it's not new. A newspaper that would knowingly employ a nazi sympathizer as Berlin bureau chief because he got them access to Hitler is not a paper that will help uphold democracy.
I looked at 38 papers. The NYT was one of only a few not to have it as the top story and photo

The handful of exceptions were pretty much all places with a big D1 football game

I genuinely don't understand why the NYT is so reticent to give coverage to one of the largest protests in history

You buy the jacket and go home, which is only 15 mins away. Your apt is $600/month

I don't understand why I see things so differently. I see a health insurance industry that thinks it's entitled to charge people 1/3rd of their income for healthcare. That industry shouldn't be "fixed." It should be burned to the ground and its ashes pissed on.
