this just doesn't cut it. kimmel didn't merely "face some criticism," the head of the FCC publicly demanded that he be punished! and ABC obliged! it's a total dereliction not to make that clear in your headline www.nytimes.com/2025/09/17/b...

Don't buy the canard that this is about Charlie Kirk. Abusing state power to lean on corporate leaders and get Jimmy Kimmel off the air because he told jokes about the president and made him feel bad was always the plan.

When I was placed on the Professor Watchlist in 2021, people sent death threats about my children. I had security officers monitor my 8yo at school.

Where is all the outrage for those of us who have been targeted for years? Where is the outrage for our families?

My own colleagues are silent.

ive never seen anything like rhetoric coming from the right in the last week, this is absolutely insane and it needs to stop and people in power need to start speaking the fuck up like right the fuck now

It pisses me off that despite our current climate this last week, all three of these dipshits will get to keep their media jobs and people can openly admit in "polite" society that they watch Fox News.

This is simply untenable. There is no way forward with media and political classes captured by the right. Every time someone commits a crime you have to pray it's not an undesirable or it's purge time, then when it turns out to be themselves again they just shrug and wait for the next one.

think it says a lot about the state of the press that there's so many national politicians who have zero ability to think on their feet and also do zero prep before speaking to them.. why bother keeping your gloves up when you only get popped in the mouth like this maybe once every eighteen months

The hypocrisy never ends, but be advised that MAGA world is going after people who dare to express their contempt for Charlie Kirk, a supposed champion of free speech, in the wake of his assassination.

The MAGA right says Charlie Kirk is a martyr for freedom of expression, but still want people to lose their jobs for criticizing his rhetoric.

But they fail to mention a lot of important stuff because they didn't actually understand what they were talking about...
