LOL, apparently I’ve been banned for (checks notes) reading a single page of an old thread and then clicking through to the second page. You doing okay there, RacketBoy dot com?

That’s a wrap on Hard difficulty. 163/400 days remaining, and days are shorter (it’s something like -1 day per 30 seconds on Normal, -1 day per 20 seconds on Hard), so I did it a bit faster this time.

The character stats are before/after the final battle, just to show what a bloodbath it is.

It dawned on me today what Trump’s weird obsession with Greenland reminds me of.

Okay, an actual respectable run this time, with all bounties captured for the first time and with 336/600 days remaining. With my new strategies in mind, I’m ready to try Hard difficulty. As for “Impossible???”difficulty? Yeah, we’ll see.

Off the top of my head…

Sapphire (PC Engine) is a technical marvel but I didn’t think it was anywhere close to the best shmup on the system.

Aldynes (SuperGrafx) is shockingly mediocre for all the praise it seems to get.

I was afraid OG Xanadu (Japanese PC) would be…
What are some (supposed) ultimate 11/10 masterpieces you got to late & assumed you'd hate but didn't or assumed you like but didn't

Hit - Doom, 1st Tomb Raider, Minecraft

OK - Biohazard 4, 3rd Strike

Miss - Halo, Half Life 2, Bioshock, Phantasy Star 2, any Zelda, Dr Mario
its always funny to me when someone plays a game like YEARS later that was universally praised and they are like "god damn it was really that good huh"

I am always in the corner like "breaking news...game that has been praised for 30 years actually deserves it"

Alright, a perfect score!!…Scoring in this game does work like in golf, right?

There are dark moments in dark days I think it might be nice not to feel, but then I realize the reality we’re in is because a far-too substantial amount of people seem incapable of empathy, and I’m thankful I’m not one of them.

Oooorrrrr, I could just use my deductive reasoning skills coupled with the bits of the map to the scepter I’ve managed to uncover and beat the game right now! LOL.

(1/) I’ve kind of reached a stopgap in my first playthrough of King’s Bounty, so time for a thread with a few casual observations. Keep in mind I’ve never played Heroes of Might & Magic, so I’m sure some of this is old hat to those who have.

learned about the atari super breakout read-along story record where a long haul space trucker has a mental breakdown after seeing the blocks in space and goes into a manic flow state trying to destroy them. they made these for yar's revenge and asteroids too.

I read about Kevin O’Leary’s weird statements during the press tour for this, and then watched his interview on The Adam Friedland Show.

He tells a story about pressuring the MYST developer to get the game out the door (~40:00 mark), but is this remotely correct?…

I was about 10 seconds away from running to the restroom in the middle of Marty Supreme when the bathtub scene happened. Holy shit. Glad I waited!

Inspired by sardoose’s comments on this one during their stream about their favorite games of the year, I started playing King’s Bounty on the Genesis yesterday and I love it! Just look at these little freaks!

All the cancellation talk today reminds me that people sure had no problem last year turning their noses up at the Sex Crime Guy’s cyberspace legacy sequel while simultaneously gushing over the race car film for dads starring the guy that abused his wife and kids for hours at 20,000 feet.

Microsoft is so fucking stupid.

Also, a bit more context from the time FWIW. I’m not saying that this means Mike is squeaky clean or that his personal beliefs maybe aren’t the best, but I think it’s fair to say that he maybe didn’t know enough about who exactly he was in bed with at the time.
