My friend Mary was laid off AND diagnosed with breast cancer in the last few months; treatment is going to make it extremely hard to start a new job. She set up a GFM and I am signal-boosting.

All - genuinely.

If this is something you want to see, can you quote tweet this and explain why?

Since I've been fighting to write this book for years, and I keep getting told there's no market interest.

I get it; it's not a sexy book. But it's an important book, imho. LMK what you think?
Also: I've said it before, and I'll say it again:

Publishing, let me write a media literacy book, I am begging you. I keep being told that there's no appetite for this...

But how can there NOT be, when it's an urgent and pressing issue, especially with how we aggregate news + use of AI?

Well-behaved women seldom make history podcasts. With all due respect to Laurel Thatcher Ulrich, who coined the original phrase, this design celebrates all women historians and podcssters! Link below to shop the collection:

One of my fundamental beliefs is that I should not have to talk to people who have been cruel to me. You might be surprised to learn how often -- and vociferously -- people disagree with me about that.

The shingles vax has literally been shown to reduce your risk of dementia by like 20%, why are all these ignoramuses trying to get both shingles and dementia
The shingles vaccine could lay me out for a week and I'd prefer that to shingles.
All over my FB people talking about their bad experiences with shingles vax and dissuading each other from getting it! We need to give people real info on how to mitigate the symtoms caused by vaccines because vaccines are always better than meeting a virus unprepared. Yet drs aren't coaching ppl

I know universities are underfunded these days but I have serious problems with all these vanity graduate programs because so many of these students are utterly underprepared and then it becomes both a financial and mental health problem

I’m watching Are You Sure?! with Jimin and Jung Kook and they’re hiking in a forest in the Northeast wearing T-shirts, shorts, and sandals, and I gotta ask: did the crew not warn them about ticks because they didn’t know or because they were looking for excuses to do thorough checks afterward?

There is no ethical consumption under capitalism but you really shouldn’t be supporting Spotify at this point
I have been perfectly happy since the switch to Tidal, the playlist transfer was pretty seamless and my literal only problem is remembering which icon to use on my phone to get to the music since I can't find the green circle anymore
Spotify is garbage on every count: Its treatment of artists, its ICE advertising, the CEO's investment in military AI, its leading role in the commodification and AI slopification of music, its terrible audio quality—you name it.

So I quit, and put together a complete guide to getting off Spotify:

$20 billion could end homelessness in the US

$40 billion could end hunger globally

Both would still only cost 3/4 of what Meta blew on Mark Zuckerberg’s obviously bad ideas because nobody would tell him they were stupid because he’s worth over $200 billion because he doesn’t pay his share of taxes
Mark Zuckerberg’s gamble on the "Metaverse" has lost his company more than $77 billion.

Not to be a hater but why are so many of you listening to Taylor Swift’s new album. It’s not her best work. Instead might I recommend Caroline Polachek’s Desire, I Want to Turn Into You (extended version) and Rina Sawayama’s debut.
