Dredd 2. Hell, the entire Dredd Cinematic Universe.
If you were a despotic president, what movie would you force Hollywood to make? I want to see Quentin's Star Trek movie or maybe Kill Bill Vol 3.

Companies should *never* ask employees to float or front money for them. If an employee incurs expenses on behalf of the company they should be given a company payment instrument.

“Put it on your card and file for reimbursement” should never be required nor the default.
Do you have any extremely niche, but serious, ethical stances?

The greatest obstacle to the widespread acceptance and proliferation of AI technology appears to be... AI companies themselves. Their preternatural ability to create totally antisocial products, more than anything else, threatens a whole new AI winter.

Most replies to this focus on story-driven games, but IMO there's a lot to be said for games that are intensely good at gameplay mechanics.

Good examples: the stealth tactics games from the now-defunct Mimimi studio. Shadow Gambit is IMO an example of the pinnacle of gameplay design.
(honest question) what are the “good” video games? artistically i mean, not in a “i enjoyed this escapist slop” kind of way
Well. It's not Red Dead Redemption 2, but it's like one of three video games I'd genuinely consider good.

Everyone has a 1-2 season TV show they sorely miss and not enough people knew about that you are always praising the heavens about.

What's yours?

I am incandescently angry that "AI safety" people have spent years chasing Skynet thought experiments instead of *this shit*, which has always been far more likely and far more important.
4o's agreeable sycophancy was a major driver of the product's growth and also one of the most immoral product features in tech history
correlation isn't causation but this is a pretty easy visual correlation between "using chatgpt constantly" and "committing suicide"

appreciating the miracles of modern technology while still understanding its limitations is one of the most important modern skills one can cultivate

the "that's cool" to "that can do anything" pipeline has been weaponized, but it's not enough to just retreat to the safety of "actually, it sucks"

A great post and in line with my experience: *especially* the bit about chaining reliability. It has been a classic ML problem since forever and it turns out LLMs still have all the same properties of ML generally, for good and bad.

Case in point: Gmail’s utility was so apparent that they literally had to limit signups and go to an invite model.

Or the iPhone. So demanded people slept outside of stores to buy them.
Useful technology isn't something people are forced to use. This was one of the really interesting things I heard maybe a year ago from so many pundits. Things like "I'm trying to think of ways to use this so I become good at it." That's not how productivity tools are supposed to work.
this technology that i cant even get my own employees to use without literally threatening them is definitely going to be profitable one day
