If you ask a San Francisco Jew whether they are having Chinese food on Christmas Day, they will most likely say “which kind?”

If we don't want bad things to become normalized (see the gutting of Public Broadcasting r) we have to be willing to spend time/energy fixing what has been broken.

Could a Democratic Prez reinstate these things? Of course. But they can't sigh, say "too late" & give up.

For my new Dr. Seuss inspired book IF I RAN COLLEGE FOOTBALL, page 9 is all about how you don't get to opt-out of a bowl game and declare for the NFL draft. The Bowl Game is part of the season. Imagine if a pro-player said "I'm not going to play the Super Bowl, I'm retiring for HOF Consideration."

I was I was musically sophisticated to describe, accurately I mean, why I like when a song seems to be hitting notes that go downward on the scale (see, say, the lead melody line of "Machinehead" by Bush.

What's that technique called?

Having trouble articulating this but here goes. I can't w/ hip -hop that's "here's a beat that isn't that interesting. Here's me flowing over it." Unless you are Earl Sweatshirt and can weave words like tapestries, this feels like what you do when workshopping a song, not when you've finished it.

What is your favorite OVERLOOKED quote in a Rob Reiner movie? Anyone faking orgasm at Katz's Deli or yelling "You Can't Handle the Truth" will be forced to define the word "OVERLOOKED" in English, French and Wolof while standing on their head.

I mean aren't the Top 9 basically interchangeable? Has any director had a 10 year run like Rob Reiner had between 1994-1995? We're talking Eddie Murphy in his 20s here.
