raskin's talk about MTG reminding me how lincoln chafee - remember him? - didn't just speak out against his party, he actually became a democrat. and the moment that happened, he lost all novelty, appeal, mystique, and the party moved on to trying to appeal to further right republicans. lmao

As the wise old adage says, "I do not support all women, some of you bitches are very dumb!!"

Resist the urge to continue causing yourself brainworm damage reading that drivel or giving a single fuck about her. I've got 6 more mute words and it's still leaking through.

Christopher Halliburton is so close he can taste it, all that work, all these years, he can fucking taste it.
It's very funny when NPR is
interviewing an expert in something and it all feels fairly normal and evenhanded and then at the end they're like "and that was Christopher Halliburton from the Center for Exploding Venezuela"

People laugh but to this day the Economist magazine, harbors a lingering editorial rage at public sewers, precisely because it is a sterling if not stinky example effective collective action.
Great thread and article on the lessons of the Milwaukee "Sewer Socialists"
Wisconsin's sewer socialists provide a great template for Zohran & democratic socialism today—here are the top 10 things they achieved by running Milwaukee for almost 50 years🧵

Struck by this statement from the memoirs of former Labour PM James Callaghan on being hesitant to run for leadership because he was … 64 years old, and had been in govt for 30 years.

He was the oldest of the five candidates for leadership by 12 years.

I am so fascinated by this ridiculous building.
Strictly speaking, it's not a façade that's cracking up at 432 Park Ave. in NYC; it's a "load-bearing, concrete exoskeleton." This makes the problem much harder to fix. The engineers called it back in 2012, but hubris and vanity overruled them. lloydalter.substack.com/p/schadenfre...
