Still. True.

#USAID is needed more than ever with:
- ongoing wars,
- emerging zoonotic diseases (e.g. H5N1, #ebola), and
- existing infectious diseases (HIV/AIDS, drug-resistant TB).

Pathogens do NOT respect borders. Or America First Policies.

For not GOOD/rational/lawful reason.

I assume that they do have a reason for walking around with unholstered guns- it just might be hateful, power-hungry, wildly immature, or otherwise deranged.

I am watching what is happening in Minneapolis on Ali Velshi and one of the ICE officers (off camera) literally says, “It’s like Call of Duty. Pretty cool huh?” as they shoot whatever it is they are shooting. Agents walking around, guns unholstered for no reason. This is insanity

Alex Pretti was a colleague at the VA. We hired him to recruit for our trial. He became an ICU nurse- I lover working with him. He was a good kind person who lived to help and these fuckers executed him.

So I was looking for the original clip of this to demonstrate why mocking fascists is so effective and denying them the conflict they yearn for is good.

Found this instead. Credit to thecathyrichardson

Do you want to be awakened from your slumber when It Happens? Or do you want to find out when you awake naturally and unlock your phone? Let your loved ones know.

A bittersweet gesture... much appreciated after the hell and hate the regime has caused the world over throughout this last year.

A year ago, the Trump Administration froze U.S. foreign assistance funding, a move that ultimately led to the full dismantling of USAID.

It was a cruel and reckless decision, and one that continues to have devastating repercussions around the world.

The most wonderfully weird, and dramatic yet innocuous thing the internet has done for me (and likely many of us) in a looooong ass time.

Thank you @musicologyduck.bsky.social for distracting me from doomscrolling in the cesspool.
I just woke up from a nap and somehow while I was asleep, everyone on the bus has figured out we are not going to the right place

We purposefully dismantled a robust national rail network and replaced it with forced car dependency.

Seeing high-quality European sleeper cabins for €55 highlights the freedom we lost to decades of social engineering and auto industry subsidization.
55€ for a MiniCabin from Wien to Rome is a great deal, so that's what I'm doing for the next 14 hours overnight 🚂🌙🇦🇹🇮🇹

Well, I've noticed a 10,000 percent increase* in ICE physically assaulting people, including citizens. So I don't think ICE is the victim here.

DHS. There was absolutely no need to tackle this guy to the ground. They're being violent for violence's sake.

Photo by Pierre Lavie. Yes this is me. And I threw my Leica. It landed on the bass plate with hardly a scratch. Another Photographer grabbed it along with my phone and I was able to track him later. I was held face down tear gas deployed right in front of me and pepper sprayed directly into the eye.
