As we get closer to the UK Government’s Budget, don’t be fooled by headlines like this.

Let's explore the facts... 🧵

We're proud to sign this letter and join 100+ other organisations in calling for the UK Government to fully scrap the two-child limit.

By fully scrapping the two-child limit the government can deliver a decisive shift in children’s opportunities, and in the UK's potential.

A partial lifting of the two-child limit at the Autumn Budget would still leave child poverty rising and would risk creating levels of hardship not seen under a Labour government for more than half a century.

It must be scrapped *in full*.

It's not just us that wants you to scrap the two-child limit to benefits Rachel Reeves, over 40 economists, academics & policy experts back us too.

Removing this cruel policy at the Autumn Budget in full doesn't only make moral sense, it makes economic sense.

Our #LabourPartyConference billboard was so huge that @alastaircampbell2.bsky.social couldn't fail to notice it and talk about it on @therestpolitics.bsky.social.

As conference ends today, we hope the UK Government has listened to this message loud and clear: scrap the two-child limit in full.

This news is welcome, but tapering support so some children get more payments than others undermines the principle that all children need and deserve equal financial support.

The most effective way to reduce child poverty is to scrap the two-child limit in full, no ifs and no buts.

We agree with the Foreign Secretary's strong condemnation of what is happening to children in Gaza. But what is happening is more than a "moral obscenity".

In line with UN findings, what we are witnessing on the ground in Gaza is consistent with genocide.

The UK must act now to stop it.
