I've noticed this, too. I have lots of gay and lesbian friends who served in the military, had big traditional weddings, settled down with two kids and a house and now volunteer on the PTA.

Meanwhile Republican op-ed columnists are like "what if Jeffrey Epstein wasn't so bad after all"
odd feature of our time in how many liberals and progressive are bog standard monogamous family types--Serwer, Bouie, Hayes, AOC, etc--and how many Traditional Family Values conservatives are fuckin drugged up perverts

FWIW this is more or less how white conservatives destroyed multiracial democracy after emancipation. That & paramilitary violence, but of course they would never... oh yeah they're doing that too.
Here's @rickhasen.bsky.social detailing the scenario in which Trump uses search warrant to seize ballot boxes in a contested 2026 locale. This is more worrisome than ICE at the polls. Hasen also suggests ways to act against this now.

It's harrowing stuff:

I think dipping a slice of cake in batter and deep frying it sounds like a totally rad idea...
We never used the term "cake batter" when I was a kid, we said "cake mix." When I first heard cake batter, in my early 20s, I assumed someone took a slice of cake, dipped it in batter and deep fried it. As I'm Scottish I don't think this is completely unreasonable.

I should have known better than to flush my wooden shoes down the toilet. Now it's clogged.

Some proposed Winter Olympics reforms:

1. Luge, bobsleigh, and skeleton should be consolidated under "Sledding," which is what they are.

2. Pond hockey should be a separate sport.

3. Snowboarding should have separate "High" and "Not High" divisions.

Correction: 100% are personally affected by the housing crisis; 71% don’t realise they are
New polling on Ireland's housing crisis:

- 81% want the government to build more social housing "even if there are local objections"

- 64% disagree government is making progress on housing

- 67% would vote for a constitutional right to housing

- 29% are personally affected by the housing crisis
Appetite for radical change grows as voters’ patience wears thin over housing crisis
Half of all voters say country’s problems are getting worse instead of better

They are building a GULAG archipelago run by private contractors. Like the "KZ" of Nazi Europe, its us without any kind of public scrutiny or oversight, but also public knowledge of who goes there and rumors about what happens inside.
It can happen here - in Pa. coal country

I went to tiny Tremont, Pa. to see how a former Big Lots warehouse for cheap goods would become an island in a U.S. gulag archipelago, warehousing 7,500 human beings from ICE raids

My special report on an American nightmare www.inquirer.com/opinion/ice-...
From Big Lots to warehousing humans: ICE plan sparks fear in Schuylkill County | Will Bunch
A massive warehouse in Tremont, Pa., that once moved cheap goods will now detain migrants in a $119 million ICE deal.

Brave immigration officers kicking a puppy. They are definitely torturing people in detention.
TRIGGER WARNING, because here is a US Marshal from Trump‘s Gestapo Force in Memphis kicking a puppy today in the Whitehaven neighborhood and breaking its rib. They were serving a warrant and I guess BIG MAN got scared of the schnauzer.

It's X-cooked comms and I can't imagine bringing it here like this except to troll or as a ten-second afterthought.

Embarrassing.
I met with the Board of the Minnesota State Association of Narcotics Investigators to discuss how we can better protect Minnesotans. We must ensure law enforcement has the resources they need to take on the dangerous drugs like meth and fentanyl.
