More of this from politicians, please. When the pundits start talking bullshit call them out.
Trevor Philips, "This is not a country where people get thrown in jail for the things that they say"

Zack Polanski, "We're spiralling down that road. 2,700 arrested for opposing a genocide"

I always wonder with these things how much it's "people believed" and how much is "people told stories about". Like... it wasn't widely believed in the 20th century that rabbits wore little blue jackets, despite the depictions everywhere. How do you tell?

Age verification?

I had a furby, a word which my phone’s spell check does not even acknowledge the existence of but which, I assure you, was an enormous deal at the time
Age verification?

arguably the biggest news of the week that Lisa Nandy is currently doing something related to her brief
Only three cabinet ministers have not Tweeted or put out a message of support for Starmer:

Wes Streeting
Shabana Mahmood
Lisa Nandy (who is at the Winter Olympics)

This could of course change, but it's where we're at just before 3:30pm

Indeed. Labour didn’t win because of McSweeney. They won because the Conservatives were historically, uniquely unpopular and collapsed under their own failures. Labour’s vote actually shrunk. This was less a victory than a default transfer of power - one of the strangest elections in modern history

I do wonder about anyone who thinks McSweeney single-handedly won Labour its majority. They do realise they were up against a catastrophically unpopular government? The 2024 result was very much an underperformance against the fundamentals.
Not *all* Labour MPs wanted McSweeney out.

“Gutted about Morgan”, one texts.

“So many of us know he’s brilliant to work with, so exceptional at the bigger picture strategic thinking, relentlessly focused on the moving pieces… and credit him with winning the majority”.

It's really important for people to internalize that, in the eyes of Washington DC's foreign policy establishment, the biggest sin of the Obama presidency was concluding a deal with Iran that objectively satisfied the demands that Washington DC pretends to believe in.

It is genuinely an impressive feat that Trump designed the BoP so brazenly and nakedly that half of Europe refuses to join it. The Europeans have a long, time-honored tradition of disregarding international law to placate American desires on Palestine but this is just too far lol.

It's not a lot, but it's weird that it's happened twice in this ad break...
