I think it's newsworthy and worth reporting that someone said this. But I think it's also basically impossible to predict events that far away in these circumstances. Consider incentives to say this. Consider that they didn't announce this week's conclusion of activities in advance.

The piece about monkey farms I read last night was so depressing I almost couldn't sleep, so this piece about Irish cocaine dealers who coöperate with Hezbollah is a good change of pace. Two of the Irish gangsters are named Gary and Gerry, they are uncle and nephew.

When you dig into it, it is pretty interesting how much of Washington's global power in the post-War era came down to taking iron ore from Duluth, and taking coal from southern Illinois and the Appalachians, and combining them at preposterous temperatures in Gary.
