But please, do go on about the necessity of Medicaid cuts to combat fraud, waste and abuse.
This is fu*king outrageous!

The federal government on Saturday dismissed charges against a Utah plastic surgeon accused of throwing away COVID-19 vaccines, giving children saline shots instead of the vaccine and selling faked vaccination cards.

The President of the United States just called for Democratic members of Congress to be executed. "HANG THEM", he posted.

If you're a person of influence in this country and you haven't picked a side, maybe now would be the time to pick a fucking side.

after the George Floyd protests when every business rushed to virtue-signal by hiring consultants, shoving every Black employee front and center, and boasting loudly about DEI, a lot of BIPOC experts were laughed out the room for saying “most of this won’t last five years,” and I just want to say

I wonder what America would look like if both parties had possessed the moral integrity to take a hard line against segregation and antiblackness and left disgruntled racists politically homeless instead of integrating hatred into a party platform.

Google has now admitted that they will tap into users' personal data within Gmail and Drive in order for their upcoming AI search to "be more helpful".

For years, Google has advertised their services as "encrypted" and "secure", which begs the question: are they really?

Today is a good day to remember, and to say, that the #MeToo movement was right, and was righteous, and has been vindicated over and over again. There was no overreach. There was no excess. There was no they-went-too-far.

So much work remains to be done.

The Only Good Indians by @sgj.bsky.social. It started me actively seeking out new Indigenous literature and led me to some of my favorite books, the aforementioned included.
performative reading, lack of reading skills, nobody's reading anymore -- NO!

tell me about a book that changed you

for me? the *extremely* ahistorical novel, THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY which I read at 13 and was like, "Oh, art can be *everything* to a maker, for good and bad"

basically every 2024 truism is dead. Trump did not build a lasting multiracial coalition or turn young men into committed Republicans. You don’t need to cave on trans rights to win. The pundits have nothing left to tell you.

whatever you think of Spanberger, the fact that her opponent ran a campaign based almost entirely on transphobia and is on track to eat shit in the biggest blowout the state has seen since 2009 is unambiguously a huge win
Earle-Sears ran what felt like 12 billion ads about how much she hated trans kids and I didn’t hear a single pundit say she should stick to real issues that affect real people.

I gotta give it up to the writers tho. If NYC elects a Muslim mayor on the day Dick Cheney died, that is one hell of a slow played story arc. Every time you want to fire 2025's writers room they give you a little narrative resolution as a treat.

Yeah, it should have taken most people about five minutes back in 2015-16 to see that it was mostly just dumb assholes looking for excuses to be their worst selves.

Everything after that has been the professional class trying to chase their dollars.

I found this piece sad too, but mostly because it is part of a years-long effort by progressives to understand what "really" animates Trump voters.

We already know! It is racism, misogyny and misinformation. I know that sounds condescending or whatever but it's simply what all evidence suggests.
