When World of Warcraft first introduced Moonkin form to Druids, the character model breathed thru its feet and could drown standing in a fountain in Ironforge.
i was going through my X archives and found this by @superpodsaga.com, which I qrt'd at some point years ago

so, let me bring the question back: what is the most useless piece of video game knowledge you know?

Guess my wow Druid is now old enough to drink alcohol in the US. 😂
It's World of Warcraft's 21st birthday, and I don't really want to think about that too closely, but there are prizes and bonus XP to earn so you may want to get to work on that while aggressively ignoring the passage of time.
It's 21st anniversary time for World of Warcraft!
Unless you were paying attention when you logged into World of Warcraft yesterday, you may have easily been able to miss that it's anniversary time again -

Awards season is the best time of the year. So much blood sweat and tears goes on behind the scenes from so many people to make accessibility a reality, it always makes me so happy to see people publicly recognised for it.

Losing Alice feels like being hit with a phaser. I will be offline doing Klingon death screams in her honor until I can process this horrible blow to the space-time and disability and community and geekdom and comraderie and cat lover continuums. -SR

FYI when reporting salary information you should use the median not the average

Averages get distorted by outliers way too easily in this kind of data

The crime used to be just existing in the world as your own natural self.
Think it's as good a time as ever to remind the younger folks that "be gay, do crimes" was born from the fact it was flat out illegal to be gay for a long while.

My kid, who thinks she is a cat and communicated primarily via meows in her early life, just had the worst news at the allergy appointment. Not only is she not a cat, she is actually allergic to cats. She is allergic to her favorite thing in the whole wide world.

Filling out my performance evaluation for work and having a hard time because I do so many small things to support others that it is hard to get it into a cohesive story about my accomplishments. I also hate having to write about myself & the impact I have. Also, studio closures make that hard. 😭

i'll go even further and say that i don't care how much money you have, signing up should be enough. you make n+1 times poverty instead of n? cool, take it anyway. you're jeff bezos? hey man, no judgment (on this anyway), you get snap funds.

means testing is a plague and everyone should have food.
If you want or need SNAP benefits, literally the only barrier should be...signing up.

"But what about fraud?" My sibling in red, white, and blue, THE PENTAGON HASN'T PASSED AN AUDIT IN YEARS AND MONEY IS FAKE. I don't care if too many people have food assistance.

They personally don't need them "yet".

They're basically advocating against their older selves' needs.

Slower reaction times, lower vision, arthritis, shorter memory, smaller attention span, you name it.

They'll come around one day and thank us when they can still play.

Too many gamers are weird about accessibility options in games just because they personally don’t need them.

Seeing folks praising Amazon for "good severance" but y'all, even 5-6mo of severance is not enough with the state of the industry. There are no jobs. There are hundreds competing for every role. These people lived/worked in expensive cities (Irvine, SD, Seattle) and unemployment is garbage.
