To my new followers:

I am a disabled Asian American progressive policy nerd who also posts a ton of pictures of my dog Zini. You've been warned.
Well f*ck. I did not have on my 2026 card the kidnapping of a head of state.

Happy new year. May this year be kinder.

Went to see the sunrise. It's a Korean tradition to see the first sunrise of the year. So, it wasn't surprising to see numerous other Koreans doing the same thing. While I will never be an early bird, I do find the sunrises at Lincoln Memorial breathtaking.

The end of mainstream news didn't start with Trump. It started with corporations building conglomerates to push out the "24hr" news cycle. The Trump Admin is just expediting it. Local independent news outlets are needed more than ever to push back the fascist takeover.

Wall Street Journal files on disability services
December 21, 2025 at 3:43 PM
From attacking disabled ppl at universities to at the airport, the Wallstreet Journal is bent on eliminating the accommodations we rely on by saying most who request r swindlers & cheaters. This will result in ppl having to "prove" their disability, creating even more barriers. This has got to end.

Normally we see the labor market do a little better in October and November due to the holiday season. Not a good sign.
Breaking:

The U.S. labor market lost 41,000 jobs over October and November, and the unemployment rate ticked up to 4.6% — the highest since 2021.

A fav movie of mine. Seems inconceivable that I was matched with a dog named Vizzini. RIP Rob Reiner.
three men are standing next to each other on top of a hill . one of the men is holding a sword .
Alt: Three men, Inego Montoya, Vizzini, and Fezzik, are standing next to each other on top of a hill . Montoya says to Vizzini, "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."

I can’t imagine how she must feel to serve this country knowing how aspects of it rejects her and her family and her community for simply existing.

When people talk about banning cellphones in classrooms, my first thought is about school shootings and how kids won't be able to call for help or comfort.

Good god...
Two victims of previous school shootings — Mia Tretta, who was shot in the stomach in 2019 at Saugus High School, and Zoe Weissman, who survived the 2018 shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School — are now at Brown. Gun violence is out of control in this country.

Thanks for interviewing me. Without ACA premium subsidies, disabled workers will have fewer career choices and many may not be able to afford health care.

Tomorrow, the Supreme Court will hear a case about how courts apply the death penalty to people w/ intellectual disabilities. Executing people w/ intellectual disabilies goes against the 8th amendment. Yet too many are still executed due to how states test. www.americanprogress.org/article/the-...
