After the terrible news yesterday, it was good to spend sometime outdoors with two friends & get out of my head. We went to the Garden of the Gods & it was absolutely gorgeous. Sometimes it's hard to remember there's such beauty in the world & then nature reminds you of its awe inspiring brilliance.

"Alice Wong, a proud Asian American and disabled woman, transformed the disability justice movement by insisting that disabled stories, disabled joy, and disabled futures mattered. Through her fearless advocacy and storytelling, she made sure millions of disabled people could not be ignored. Alice was known as the cyborg oracle in the disability community, challenging systems that devalued disabled lives while expanding the movement by emphasizing dignity and collective care. As a disabled ancestor, her legacy will forever shape the community.”

Probably the most fun I've had volunteering in a while. @wck.org by Navy Archives served around 4000 meals in 90 minutes to furloughed federal employees. Can't wait to come back.

It's definitely fall & Congress still can't get its act together to get the government running. People might lose their SNAP benefits, leaving millions to slowly starve. But don't worry, at least Trump was able still build his McWing on the White House & host a Great Gatsby party just days before.
