Pinned
figure it's time to make a pinned post to warn people.

i post about whatever the hell i want. this is a personal account and i like to talk. sometimes it's politics. sometimes it's horizon (the robot dinosaur franchise). sometimes magic. it is *never* bonus insider content for my day job.
mmm. i would buy us as jadzia and nerys.

honey you're straight.

kira nerys was very, very close to making my list too. โค๏ธ

idk. never seen any outlander.
February 4, 2026 at 4:33 AM
and better than the first three seasons of discovery or enterprise, too.

both disco and enterprise got much better in their fourth seasons, though.
February 4, 2026 at 3:51 AM
lukewarm take: for all mankind and the orville are both better star trek shows than picard (any season).

some allison-coded characters.

do i have main character syndrome? a bit. since i was little. maybe more than a bit. but it's come down in recent years. lately i'm much more excited about empowering other people to be awesome. ten years ago, charlie morningstar would be there instead of lin beifong.

just circle the station some more, pretend you're in awe of the pylons or something.
February 4, 2026 at 12:02 AM
it's four episodes so far. and three of them are decent to good.
February 3, 2026 at 11:56 PM
if avery brooks shows up on star trek this week i will absolutely lose my shit.

i strongly suspect this will not happen but i am holding out a little hope. just a little. considering how much they're hyping this as the "what happened to sisko" episode.

two gals' opinion.
February 3, 2026 at 10:46 PM
like i think you get there plenty with a bottle of (full sugar, not diet) soda, a mentos, and letting the thing explode inside the car making a sticky mess. without smashing the windshield or tossing hydrochloric acid anywhere.
February 3, 2026 at 8:09 PM
i wouldn't recommend that course of action. but i would still understand it.
February 3, 2026 at 8:06 PM
in high school i would have been the kid who avoided the furball, came back with a heavy metal object of some kind like a chair, then smashed it into his vehicle.

or quietly raided the science lab for some caustic chemicals and introduced them to his vehicle.

i am glad i'm not still that kid.

there are no details to share here because this is a personal account and i like my job, but god damn i am excited about what we're doing with housing. i work with some of the most insane (complimentary) people i've ever met.

but right now i think i'm just playing more ipad games. then napping.
February 3, 2026 at 7:49 PM
i'm still recovering from minor surgery and so i'm not spending a whole lot of time on the couch not working, but i've been in a few meetings and just got out of one a few minutes ago.

right now i am excited enough about work that i wish i were in any kind of condition to actually be productive.
February 3, 2026 at 7:49 PM
agreed. but it needs to involve actual responsibility, remorse, and restitution. not darvo bullshit.

in conclusion, fuck neil gaiman.
February 3, 2026 at 5:19 PM
yep yep, i'm like 90% that we've had this conversation before.
February 3, 2026 at 4:06 AM
the seahawks are the first and the patriots are the second, right?

my condolences on your traffic.
February 3, 2026 at 4:00 AM
that said, if *you* like football, i hope you enjoy the hell out of the game. me not giving a shit shouldn't stop you!
February 3, 2026 at 3:56 AM
oh cool the super bowl this year is the city i was born in and am imminently moving back to vs the city i grew up in.

man if i cared about football at all there would be such potential for drama. it almost makes me wish i did care.

hanging specifically is grotesque and i find capital punishment morally unacceptable.

but if anything were going to warrant it, it would be the commission and support of a range of institutional crimes against humanity including child rape and murder.

i would love a better option though.
In 1946, cartoonist & illustrator Noel Sickles was sent by Life magazine to sketch the Nuremberg trials. Here is his sketch of the execution of Joachim Von Ribbentrop, who claimed at trial that his boss had made all of the important decisions, & that he was only following orders.

as i understand it, there was a wave of jewish migration from eastern europe to nyc shortly before world war 1.

seems wise, tbh.
