This is how New Jersey does it: Bruce Springsteen tells ICE "Get the F out" as he urges people to "stand against heavily armed mass federal troops invading an American city using Gestapo tactics against our fellow citizens." He then dedicated the song “The Promised Land” to Renee Good.

as the Adult Child of a Shrimpboat Captain, this was especially humiliating
The East Coast trips were awesome. I went on one off San Diego years later. Saw a Humpback Whale, all kinds of other critters, and later got seasick for the first and only time in my life. It was not very pacific at all.

pandemic- inspired, the mood still fits:

She trusts the president
Don't wanna get a gun
What if I move in with someone?
And grow a garden in case the stores all run out"

Thoughtful and moving piece on what happens when fandom becomes complicity
I never thought I would walk away from Star Trek. I’ve written about it for a decade and I’ve eagerly shared it my entire life. But given who owns it now and who stands to profit from Trekkies’ loyalty, I can’t keep promoting it. The Trekkie in me won’t allow it.

Here’s why I’m beaming out.
I Can Say Goodbye To Star Trek Because Star Trek Raised Me
Star Trek instilled in me many of the same values that are taught in houses of worship across the world, but in my faith, there is no God to judge or punish me—I learned how to rely on my own moral co...

A bitter wind blows through the country
A hard rain falls on the sea
If terror comes without a warning
There must be something we don't see
What fire begets this fire?
Like torches thrown into the straw
If no one asks, then no one answers
That's how every empire falls

After fighting to keep emails between Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s office and billionaire Elon Musk’s companies secret, officials released nearly 1,400 pages of documents to @kutnews.bsky.social and The Texas Newsroom late last year.

All but about 200 pages were blacked out.

Hear that? They're trying to get these prosecutors to go after Renee Good's WIDOW instead of the fucking ICE good who murdered her.
Breaking: NYT now says *six* federal prosecutors in Minnesota have just resigned over the Justice Department's push to investigate the widow of Renee Good and the department's reluctance to investigate the ICE agent who shot Good, according to people with knowledge of their decision.
