Just like journalists rarely talk to experts in English ed or children's lit about censorship and book banning, they aren't talking to high school English teachers, college writing program adminstrators, or anyone in rhetcomp about ChatGPT and generative AI.

We hate to see it.

My employer, Univ. Colorado will pay OpenAI $2M/year under the banner of “equity”. That’s 54 full scholarships / year. Plus, our IT will be able to read our chatGPT logs, and our chats can be requested under public records law. No thanks. Surveillance is not equity

ICE took a severely disabled mans caregiver away, and it killed him.

Wael Tarabishi was dependent on his father to be his arms, his legs and his lungs.

His dad went for his regular immigration check in and never came home.

He’s rotting in a camp, and Wael died.

The cruelty is the point:
ICE Took Wael Tarabishi's Full Time Caregiver Away... and it Killed Him
Wael Tarabishi was a 30 year old disabled man who's father Maher was his full time caregiver. ICE took Maher in October, leaving Wael without support. He died three months later.

Excellent thread but also, representation makes me love the show more.
I have a friend who said, of Starfleet Academy, that this took them out of it - that seeing a person in a wheelchair in the 32nd century seemed unrealistic, since medicine in Star Trek "should be able to cure whatever was wrong with them."

That's not the case, for any number of possible reasons.

Tag yourself. I'm "I am very tired, very stomachy &hate nearly the whole world"
Found an additional graphic that gets even more of these quotes together.

I've kept "I hate myself, I hate clover, and I hate bees" pinned above my desk since I first started studying evolutionary biology as an undergraduate. So relatable to get extremely frustrated with your study system.

It always is about misogyny
Fuentes, yesterday: “Our #1 political enemy is women because women constrain everything, every conversation, every man, everything. They have to be imprisoned. They are the ones that are hurting the fertility rate. They're the ones making us sympathetic to poor people, which are also brown people.”

Gallup has measured Presidential approval ratings for 88 years.

Their last report on Trump had him with the lowest rating for any President record in history.

Today they announced they won’t measure approval ratings anymore.

I’m sure it’s just a coincidence.
