Late in 2024, Kathryn Vercillo of Threadstack and Create Me Free sent me some intriguing interview questions which I used as journaling prompts between liver infections. The interview is now online for all to read.

THREADSTACK Interview with Lia Pas of The Slowest Thread
"When I'm symptomatic it helps to visualize what I am feeling and "dissect" those sensations to make them less overwhelming. Freehand stitching those sensations feels like a meditation practice."

A gown for the Dragon Queen
Born on this day in 1905, Anna-May Wong was a trailblazing Chinese American actress in the early years of Hollywood when cultural diversity was not very common. She wore this 1934 gown by Travis Banton in the film Limehouse Blues @metmuseum.org #FashionHistory 🗃️🪡

Here it is! All of my sleep/insomnia visualized for 2025. One Z for each night. The thread colors represent the amount of sleep while the beads signify types of wakefulness. All tracked and coded manually in my sleep journal and stitched over the course of the year. #DHmakes

I clicked on this expecting to see a bunch of art but instead it’s all about the current US shitshow. I just muted a bunch more words regarding US politics so no, “For You” is not for me.

I turned in the gyre
I loosed blood dimmed tides,
Oh baby baby

Oops, your things fall apart,
Mere anarchy starts;

The presumptuous autocorrupt cannot HAVE a theory of mind! It has no agency! No judgement! No discernment!
We do not attribute theory of mind to inanimate objects! Even ones with googly eyes that we have named Ralph! No, our equilibrium is fine without handing any credit to the electric sand.
The full quote is worse! (and also slop)

"We need to get beyond the arguments of slop vs sophistication and develop a new equilibrium in terms of our ‘theory of the mind’ that accounts for humans being equipped with these new cognitive amplifier tools as we relate to each other."

Same here: I haven't been sick in six years. My "secret"?

Masking indoors and in crowds.

Also: being firm about testing, keeping an eye on #Covid wastewater trends, aligning my risk profile with clean air and ventilation -- and minimizing time around people who don't care.
