When a sitting representative refers to the Super Bowl halftime show as “pornography,” people should use that to reflect on how they and other representatives are simultaneously working to ban, censor, and restrict “pornography” and what that actually means

Trump, in the middle of his latest unhinged Truth Social screed, claims that if Canada makes a trade deal with China, "the first thing China will do is terminate ALL Ice Hockey being played in Canada, and permanently eliminate The Stanley Cup."

For years I've wanted a decent photo of a red snapping shrimp in its corkscrew anemone home. These two guys made my day. FINALLY.

This app did the thing yet again where it updated itself and turned “Require alt text before posting” off, so if you have that set, go into Settings > Accessibility and turn it back on (and if you don’t have it set, I recommend doing that)

Visited the Natural History Museum London last week and honestly: collections like this are the backbone of everything we think we know about the ocean. Absolute treasure trove.

This is an excellent idea, although Westboro is a generous location to drop them.
If I were Mayor of Ottawa, I would drive the @octranspo.com management team to Westboro, dump them on a random side street and give them 1 hour to get back to City Hall using only a Presto card

Whoever makes it back in time gets to keep their job

So... going to run a little experiment. Usually for the @techdirt.com podcast, I interview people I'm interested in talking to, but I figured maybe I'd try to do a kind of AMA: ask me anything. Respond to this Bluesky post with questions, and if I get enough good ones, I'll record answers as a pod.

For the 🐟 and #MarineLife folks
It's hard to grasp how large this grouper is until you see it in comparison to the ship's toilet on the left.

This appears to be an Atlantic goliath grouper or 'itajara' (Epinephelus itajara). They can reach 800 lbs (350 kg) & 8 feet long (2.5 m)

Let's talk about these gentle giants.
