For my #sewing friends, check out how this kimono was made by watching The Green Wrapper unpick it.

It reveals how the rounded corners were made without cutting the any of the corner off!! (If you only want to see that part, go to 5:22.)

The weighted toy dog now has the bare patch and hole on his toe (chewed by the doggo here who thought it was a toy for him) covered with visible mending.

A bit of houndstooth to cover the wound left by a hound’s tooths. 🤣 (H/T to @hyperskip.bsky.social)

Today’s task that is giving me some respite from all the awful things going on in the world is to do a visible repair on my kid’s weighted toy dog.

The real dog here had a nom on the toy dog’s paw, so my kid and I chose some colours for a woven repair.

I learnt this morning what happened in Minneapolis (again) and I got out of bed to give my kid a hug.

As long as the general population is passive, apathetic, diverted to consumerism or hatred of the vulnerable, then the powerful can do as they please, and those who survive will be left to contemplate the outcome.

You can do this, people!!
With Alt text

This means a lot. Ordinary people protesting doesn't worry the government much, but when those people actively resist fascist operations, like these people who have been disrupting ICE's attempts to kidnap people, the system gets scared because it can't function without consent.

I like house sitting at many different people’s houses and having plenty of people to experiment on when I try a new thing. 🤣

So this (my first try at using Japanese sarashi fabric and also multiple colours) will be left for the owners.

Bought a thick hair elastic for my kid from MUJI and used it on her yesterday for the first time. It’s for thick AZN hair, and it’s perfect for her since she’s part AZN, and has thick AZN hair.

Honestly really jealous of her hair. She has _great_ hair.

I’ve known this for a while anyway, but another indication that my second child is also a nerd, is that when I asked if ‘Simlish’ is the language The Sims speak, she said ‘yes’, but then specified that it’s not an _actual_ language. 🤣

I love my nerdy babies. 🥰

At the risk of jinxing myself, this current dizzy spell may have started easing off today.
Vertigo (thanks, perimenopause) is fun!!

Try going about your day doing everything you normally do, but DO NOT tilt your head. You can look straight ahead, up and down, and directly side to side while your body is upright, but do not tilt in any direction. Also, don’t move your eyes too fast.

Convinced my AuDHD kid to leave the house, but then she decided she wants to shower (washing has been an issue for a long time) and we’ll have our day trip next week, instead.

When she’s the one suggesting a wash, how can I disagree??

But now my own ND is not enjoying the sudden change of plan. 🤦🏼‍♀️🤣

Border Patrol agents are very sad that everyone in Minnesota hates them.

“At each gas station where the agents stopped to use the restroom, groups of agitators appeared, yelled at them, stalked them, and even tried to prevent law enforcement vehicles from leaving…”

Perimenopause is a bit of a bastard. One of the most annoying things so far has been muscle soreness that won’t go away.

I’ve narrowed it down over the past year or so, after initially thinking I’d given myself a light sprain in my left arm.

The soreness isn’t actually in the muscle, as … 1/6 🧵

I bloody love that video chat is one of those science fiction ‘futuristic’ things that we have in this time. I just had a video chat with my young adult child, and it was lovely. 🥰

I think I have a good chance of being the female version of this man in another 10 years. 🥰
A man (60s?) with immaculately groomed mustachios, wearing a dapper check waistcoat, dress shorts, knee-high red socks and Doc Martens is walking down the street with a big striped umbrella slung over his shoulder.
A summer shower might be on the horizon, but he's gonna meet it in style. (4)

I’d like to place an order for more kids in the world like this, please.
On a shady quiet street, two optimistic small humans (5 & 7?) in pink dresses, wielding pink parasols, have set up a stand on their front lawn.
Their VERY impressive hand-written carboard sign reads: "2 for 1 NAILES".
Grandly proclaiming that they'll soon make "THE WHOLE WORLD SO BEAUTIFUL!" (2)
