Rep. Agbaje has been a fiercely vocal ally to queer and transgender Minnesotans during her time in elected office thus far. It would be a radical shift backward to elect a homophobic pastor to this seat.
I didn't notice this before, but Rev. Jerry McAfee, the pastor at New Salem Missionary Baptist Church, has announced his candidacy for State Representative, District 59B. This seat is currently held by Rep. Esther Agabje.

We have three clear choices for a better mayor and for a mayor that wants to rein in MPD's nonsense.

it is going to take so much love and kindness to deal with the amount of hate and violence we are going to experience.

we need to be as sweet with each other as we are brutal with them. we need to have as much love for each other as we have hate for the fascists.

together is the only way.

Guess it's time to hold a little space for grief for the folks who are struggling who will be hit the hardest by this bullshit bill. People will die and lives will be harder. Can't even feel anger at this point, just deep sadness.

One of the finest bits of advice I've ever heard for organizing & life in general; When you can't remove the pain or the fear, focus on removing the 'alone'.

I've also learned that this is a habit you must actively push yourself into. No better time to build that habit than today.

this is how you do social media work on LGBT topics that are deemed controversial: you just...limit comments. If you don't have the bandwidth or can't moderate, you don't leave anything to moderate.
