My favorite app is called Offline Games and they have lotssss of games that would be good for this.

Almost certainly the best thing I was ever told about owls was when I met an owl handler at an owl sanctuary and he told me that the wild owls who lived near the sanctuary worried about the tame show owls there and sometimes stopped by to leave them shrews and mice as presents.

also, everyone should read Kathleen Norris’ “The Cloister Walk,” the memoir of a liberal Protestant poet who spent many years in residence at Benedictine monasteries living day to day with monks and nuns. some of my favorite writing on feminist reimaginings of toxic female saint hagiography

Have seen many variations of this & broadly agree—but the part that struck me in the moment wasn’t “this is a microcosm for how America sucks” — it was “this is a microcosm for trying to behave democratically & respectfully of one another in a complex, evolving situation with things we can't know.”
i feel like the viral bus thread resonates because at every step of the way you're like "ok surely this will be resolved shortly, any second now," which seems like what all the passengers are also thinking. then the fact that the situation doesn't resolve and the bus just keeps going is an Allegory
