With all the new faces here, I figured I'd also say hi and reintroduce myself. I am a professor of physics, astronomy and earth science, among other things, but most of what you'll get from me are photos of our immensely beautiful planet. Sharing that beauty is my passion; we're so lucky to be here.

it is incredible that the entire high level legal apparatus of the United States is "anything that helps people is impossible, anything that kills people is permitted"

It's illegal for the president to relieve student loan debt. It's completely fine for the president to unilaterally decide to have the head of a foreign nation black bagged on foreign soil.

Not even pretending it is/was ever about drugs, man. Come on.
Trump: "We're going to have our very large United States oil companies go in, spend billions of dollars, fix the badly broken infrastructure and start making money for the country. And we are ready to stage a second and much larger attack if we need to do so."

He's so close to getting it.
Trump on Democrats: "They should say 'great job.' They shouldn't say, 'Oh gee, maybe it's not constitutional.' You know, the same old stuff that we've been hearing for years and years and years."

This man is sick. Just deeply unwell.
Trump to Fox & Friends on the raid that captured Maduro: "I mean, I watched it literally l like I was watching a television show. If you would've seen the speed, the violence -- it was an amazing thing."

Kidnapping the leader of a foreign state without any declaration of war and announcing it via social media is full-on rogue state stuff. From the world’s number one superpower.

How about we all just collectively scream at midnight instead of setting off fireworks. Seems more appropriate given, well... *gestures at everything*

When the world is a giant sandbox, do the one thing you can: dig!!

Thank you to White Sands National Park for actually allowing dogs. He was living his best life out there among the cool gypsum sand.

THIS. Developing critical thinking skills takes both time and effort, and making your own mistakes is a key part of the learning experience. Outsourcing your humanity to AI robs you of the very skills you're there to acquire. Unfortunately, we're already seeing clear negative impacts from AI use.
As a professor, my concern is we're producing a generation unable to think critically, overly reliant on AI for answers and unable to discern between information that is correct and information that is nonsense.
