With all the new faces here, I figured I'd also say hi and reintroduce myself. I am a professor of physics, astronomy and earth science, among other things, but most of what you'll get from me are photos of our immensely beautiful planet. Sharing that beauty is my passion; we're so lucky to be here.
I just wanted to see Josh Allen in the super bowl, damnit. ๐Ÿซค

I've been inside of both a tornado and a volcano! This is a wide angle photo I shot from within the evacuated magma chamber of a volcano, roughly 400 ft below the surface, looking up toward the vent. If you look closely, you'll see the lift in the vent that brought me down! #Photography

I've spent way too much time making animated title slides for each unit of my Earth Science course, but I am quite happy with how they're turning out!

I would rather live surrounded by a community of immigrants than next door to any of the masked goons cosplaying LEOs and terrorizing neighborhoods.

I made little night lights out of some clear quartz points I dug up in Arkansas! Hoping to get some bigger ones soon.
