This story kinda came and went but the fact that the government is explicitly and vocally thanking all the major media outlets for adhering to the bro code feels very relevant right now!!

there is no reason to vote for anything or move any process along at all until the lawlessness ends, at minimum

Here’s some things that can be done by a party out of power

- file impeachment articles every day in the House

- withhold unanimous consent in the senate and filibuster every nominee

- be everywhere with comms saying this is lawless and impeachable

a chant I can 100% endorse
Still marching westbound on 26th street, chanting “ICE is just a racist mob, get a real fucking job”

Oh sorry, I haven’t been online that much tonight, I’ve been forced to help organize a safety patrol at my kid’s daycare, because ICE stopped by today.

It's good that the GOP is a full blown Fourth Reich and the Democrats are a bunch of cowards and collaborators. It's cool and normal. The concentration camps. The kidnappings. The murders. It's great. Yeah let's make sure the government stays open. This is important work.

School has been cancelled tomorrow and Friday across the city of Minneapolis, because our federal government has made it unsafe for children here.

This is precisely the story I've been thinking about all day, and how these fascists launched this occupation after successfully standing down the federal government in a case with the Bureau of Land Management where they were in the wrong, but a Democratic admin caved because they were armed.
The Malheur National Wildlife Refuge standoff began 10 years ago today.
In April of 2025, The Tribune interviewed Ammon Bundy, now living in southern Utah as a fugitive — though law enforcement has shown little interest in arresting him.
Exclusive: Back in good LDS standing, Ammon Bundy talks about his life in Utah as a wanted man
Even with an Idaho warrant out for his arrest, Ammon Bundy said he is not overly concerned about being collared by police while he lives in Utah.

If you visit Japan a thing you notice occasionally is a very expensive robot turned off in a corner at a restaurant or hotel that sounded like good idea at the time and just sits in the corner powered off now. Most of this stuff is that. Aibo graveyard.

All the robots that fall down and don’t work at CES this year are proof you should not build something in the image of a man. Biblical hubris. Robots should look like Battlebots, do one thing poorly for the first ten years and then sorta get good, like vacuum robots.

Funny what Axios gets named quotes for and what they get from "anonymous Democrats."
About an hour ago, @axios.com was first to report that some Dems will be pushing their caucus to shut down DHS at minimum over the ICE shooting today

“The most pernicious aspect of ChatGPT is how it isolates minds.”
There is an essential & extremely generalizable point here.

Critical thinking is a team sport. We all need metacognition buddies because human brains. It doesn't matter how quote unquote smart you are. Especially in the slop times.

The most pernicious aspect of ChatGPT is how it isolates minds.
The thing that jumps out to me here is that the article says the doctor’s *colleague* went looking for the fake studies.

It suggests the doctor who used ChatGPT didn’t check for himself and uncritically assumed they were real.

In case there were any doubt that anti-labor business owners have fucking boxes of rocks for brains
This part: “After years of wasting millions of dollars losing court battles in attempts to deny their workers’ basic rights, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette (PG) announced Wednesday that it would be closing on May 3”
jfc: "Pittsburgh Post-Gazette owners couldn’t bust the union, so they shut down the paper"
