Can’t emphasize how much this is true. Your ability to generate attention is your most marketable skill as a writer, for better or worse. Especially right now. If you hate someone but keep sharing their articles, the people who employ them look at that and go “hey, they’re always in the convo”
if you hate the writer, do not share the writer's articles. people clicking on the articles is how the writer gets paid. "how do THEY still have a job in journalism, when so many talented people are being laid of?!" you, because of you. you are why.

One thing that seems like it would be potentially valuable right now is for some kind of private/academic consortium to try to compile and release data about the state of the economy, since it seems like official stats are almost certainly going to be either nonexistent or wildly unreliable.
NEW — I spoke to DoorDash about the White House claiming the company's report shows "inflation has been tamed" and whether that's an interpretation one should make. An economist also weighed in, pointing out dictatorships use data obfuscation as a tool, and right now they're "grasping at straws."
WH claims 'inflation tamed,' per DoorDash stats. Company says that's not in its report.
It comes the same week we learned the WH would likely not release key economic reports for October.

Say it louder for the back of the room, “This person is undocumented” does not mean “this person has ZERO rights”
Even if it were true, "taking jobs from Americans" is not a criminal offense that calls for committing human right abuses against said person and potentially renditioning them to third countries with poor human rights records

"This person is undocumented" does not mean "this person has ZERO rights"
Bovino: "Whether they were criminals or individuals that were taking jobs from Americans -- you name it, that's what they were doing. And I'll tell you what's gonna happen. We're gonna go even harder on the streets. If he releases those 650, we're gonna apprehend 1,650 on the streets of Chicago."

Yeah, it's well established that bats are associated with irredeemable bloodsucking monsters.
Friendly reminder to stay away from bats or else you'll spend your entire fucking day off fighting with evil insurance companies

The small school from Winona Lake, Ind., surpassed the previous record held by two schools, and it wasn't even close.

What sick dogshit place are we living in where "child sex trafficking and pedophilia" is an "issue" and not a "put everyone in jail and throw away the whole jail" situation
Enten: "Trump is 39 below water on the Epstein case. 39 points in the negative! My goodness gracious. What Trump has been selling on the Epstein files, the Epstein case, the American people have not been buying at all ... less than half of Republicans are buying it. This is his worst issue by far"

Louisville has a unique version of this problem as our urban core is almost exclusively a business district. Commuting is so easy that nearly all residences are suburban/exurban.

Rebuilding the urban core means rethinking it as a whole.
When Covid caused NYC offices to hollow out what they found was that yeah the core business districts suffered but the neighborhoods where people actually live, thrived.

All WFH means is rethinking business districts, not cities.
if you cant go in to the office 3 days a week then you really can't complain when cities are hollowed out. cities are places where ppl work and network. getting rid of that makes cities useless

people are being very flip about the possible harms of getting rid of the filibuster *right now* in a way that imo undermines the core case that the Republic is in special peril. it's clearly all downside until 2027 even if you grant electoral backlash! Dems can't have a trifecta until 2029!

Kind of crazy that evidence is mounting that the world is run by a group of rapists, pedophiles, and men convinced of women’s inmate natural inferiority, and the pundit class is trying to convince us that the real social crisis is that men are victimized and lonely because women have too many jobs.

The value of reading history is you know that in 1860 there were abolitionists who were so demoralized that they thought chattel slavery would be permanent. 5 years later those still alive had lived to see its end.

The discharge petition to force a vote on the Epstein Files only received a handful of GOP votes.

But when we get the actual vote to release them, I'm presuming we'll see a whole lot more, right?

"Congressman _____ voted against releasing the Epstein Files" isn't an ad you want before the midterms
