I think what pisses me off the most about the “predatory powerful men” discourse is not that they’re typically mediocre talents - although they mostly are - but that their presence almost certainly ensured that we never saw the work of thousands of genuinely talented women.

US history has conclusively proved that when the cops kill somebody, the immediate project becomes coming up with some crime to convict them with after the fact to frame the killing as deserved, to make them at fault for their own murder.
