Hang on. Jaxon Smith-Njigba was already being checked for a brain injury *before* they hit him in the head with the medical tent?

This "anti-American" halftime show has featured performers from two American cities: Bayamón, Puerto Rico and New York, New York.

Isn't one of those the president's hometown?

On the first day of my two-week break from covering sports, I'm attending my second U-19 girls tournament game of the day.

Jalen Brunson is getting booed at a level that Pistons fans usually save for guys who played here.

I'm trying to figure out if I have covered more games at the Pizzarena than anyone else. I'm the only print reporter who covers the Pistons and Red Wings on regular basis, and I can't think of anyone on the broadcast side.

I know ski jumpers are supposed to stay stiff during flight, but this is ridiculous.

The Pistons don't have an answer for Tristan Vukcevic and trail the Wizards 41-23 early in the second quarter.

Michigan has the best Secretary of State in the country in @jocelynbenson.bsky.social. She's the reason there was no voter fraud in 2020 - a year where she had to reinvent voting infrastructure because of COVID.

Donald Trump thinks every election he wins is clean and every one he loses is dirty.

The Red Wings have been outscored 11-2 at 5v5 in the last five games. Somehow, they have gotten three points out of it.

Several Michiganders will call him Frambers
The name Framber Valdez in a Michigan accent is highly disturbing

Tigers: We can't possibly be expected to pay Tarik Skubal $32M!

Also Tigers: *sign Framber Valdez for $38.3M*

Doing one (1) episode of The Muppet Show with Sabrina Carpenter as the guest *should* be the easiest assignment in television history. Just steal four skits from 1978 and everyone in GenX will love you.

That said, people have failed to do it for decades. So well done, Seth Rogan.

Jeffrey Epstein was convicted in 2008 for solicitation and procuring a child for prostitution.

Elon Musk emails to Epstein:

11/2/2012: "What's a good time to come over between Dec 23 and 30?"

12/13/2013: "Will be in the BVUSt Bart's area over the holidays. Is there a good time to visit?"

I thought Jonas Valančiūnas was going to get ejected for his WWE-style headlock takeover on Isaiah Stewart, but he only got a flagrant-1 and a technical. Jalen Duren also got a technical for shoving Valančiūnas after the play.

Stewart calmly walked away. That's a good sign for the Pistons.

Thank goodness @theathletic.com has a policy of giving everyone anonymity so this dope can insult Puerto Ricans.

There are times giving a source anonymity is good journalism.

More often, though, it is helping someone engage in character assassination.

apropos of nothing in particular, @lilashapiro.bsky.social gave us a tremendous piece of journalism last year, and it's always a great time to revisit it and thank her for the work she did in bringing these stories to light.

Angie and I just spent a very cold hour helping search the woods for this young boy. He lives across the street from one of the parks where I play disc golf, so we went to the nature area and looked everywhere.

If a post starts with "First, let me state", your first instinct should be to be skeptical of that claim.

Second, watch for either/or questions that ignore significant possible answers. An allegation not having been "investigated and confirmed to be true" doesn't mean it was fabricated.

Lucas Raymond and Alex DeBrincat are having very good seasons. They have 58 and 57 points, respectively.

Nathan MacKinnon's goal gave him 90 points for the season. He and Connor McDavid* are going to be very tough to beat in Milan.

Interesting to see two defensemen - Seider and Sandin-Pellikka - on Detroit's PP1 and DeBrincat on PP2.
