What's Greg Bovino been up to lately, besides getting bounced out of bars in Vegas?
Someone doused Renee Good’s Minneapolis memorial and a nearby pile of wood with gasoline and started a fire at about 9 p.m. Tuesday.

🧵This is a thing that happened when I ventured into management. It’s been 15+ years, so there’s no harm in telling this story (I hope).

I was working in telesales. At the time we were contracted to a credit card company, trying to sign folks up for cards. If we succeeded, that was a sale.

Part of the problem for me in Corporate America is that inevitably some person with authority would notice that this guy doing grunt-work was actually pretty smart, and think that they should try to make a manager out of me

I never want to work another corporate job because I hate dealing with office politics. Working in the non-profit space, though, has exposed me to whole new levels of interpersonal bullshit, not about jockeying for position or power, but about Drama

in 2023 when I was organizing parents against our archbishop’s transphobic new school guidelines, one dad asked how loud I thought it was prudent for us to be, given how punitive the Archbishop is. I was like “loud enough that all the trans/nb kids at your parish see it” and he was like “…. oh”

The drunk uncle theory.

You don’t argue with the casually homophobic uncle at Thanksgiving dinner to change his mind; you argue so that the closeted cousin at the kids table knows there’s safe people and better possibilities out there

A significant chunk of America is caught up in a pernicious case of oppositional-defiant disorder that has them risk the health and lives of their children just so they don’t have to admit that the libs could be right about something.
Measles is a bellwether. Because it’s the most contagious vaccine-preventable disease, when vaccination rates drop, it’s the first to start spreading.

Now we’ve got mumps rolling up.

Expect more.

This is just the beginning of RFK Jr.’s successful infectious disease reintroduction plan.

You ever think about a bar full of people defiantly singing La Marseillaise, played by a soundstage full of Jewish refugees? You ever think about CASABLANCA??????

Even when given a chance to clarify, this bozo can't come up with a coherent definition of "common American culture." Neither hamburgers nor pizza "have their roots in England," for Christ's sake! -- and yet to him they are "American" in a way that, say, tacos or chicken tikka masala are not.
when MAGA white supremacists like Carl whinge abt passing of 1965 Hart-Celler Immigration Act they are complaining that it overturned 1924 Johnson-Reed Act, a law limiting immigration to people from Northern Europe, which was drafted by eugenicist Rep. Albert Johnson, with BIG support from the Klan
