The important thing to remember about propaganda is that if someone is lying, there must be someone they're lying to.

There are certain methods a free society simply can't use to advance it's interests because it in their very nature to destroy that freedom. "A house divided against itself...", and all that.

It can't have escaped your attention that there's a huge Salvadoran and Guatemalan community in DC and Northern Virginia. It's almost as if half the surviving Armenians moved to Ankara.

Assuming Stephen Miller fails in reordering the the demographics of America, what do you plan to do when little Jorge or little Maria grow up and start asking president AOC, or whoever, questions about what happened in the old country?

On account of the 14th amendment, millions of American citizens, mostly of Central American extraction, are now descended from communities the US government attempted to... well, choose your euphemism, (cleanse, pacify, liquidate?) This has inevitable political consequences.

But there's an enormous difficulty there. The United States is not a closed society, and our present political crisis owes much to the reaction a wave of migrants and refugees from a part of the world where these policies were enacted, driven in so small part by their long term consequences.

Other than anti-Communism, I
suppose the answer is that's it's a "democracy in one country" sort of thing, and what was done in Indonesia, Vietnam or Central America doesn't merit consideration on those terms.

There are actions that the agency has taken that are so grossly inconsistent with what the vast majority of Americans, and I'm not speaking out of any naivete about the standards of the US electorate, would consider our core values that there must be some kind of cognitive dissonance.

I've got to admit, I've never really figured out how the average member of the CIA workforce feels about the American system of government.

In a world class case of not beating the rumors, James gave the Duke of Buckingham, his "royal favorite" a ship named "Buckingham's Entrance".

All I'm saying is that there's one, maybe two of those that we know for sure wasn't being searched on Little St. James. The Palais de l'ร‰lysรฉe, sure, but not Epstien island.

Listen, given everything else in the news right now, I for one am proud of my state's appreciation for women who are very much of age.

*at the underground meeting* oh I'm sorry, I thought this was about the *Glorious* Revolution. I just want the House of Orange restored to frustrate the papists. Well, I'll be on my way.

Goats have very distinctive personalities. My grandmother had one on her farm who loved PB&Js and would never leave her golden retriever's side. And there was this one time I was minding my own business in suburban Illinois, and out of nowhere one headbutted me and ran off with my watch!
When I was a GS at Fermilab, the goat who lived next door to us (best friends with a diabetic horse!) would regularly get out of the fence then eventually return. One day he found a watch and brought it to me. It was so nice and wonderful and genuine. I wore that watch for years. The goat watch.

The world's wealthiest man really is part of the select group of people whose profession isn't violence and can legitimately claim to have a need to be armed at all times, and yet he had to go all "I studied the blade" with it.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: the ability of a man this objectively successful to come off as a complete loser needs to be studied by science.

In fairness, our mother's side of the family are conspicuously white South Americans, and he was mostly playing Halo the Jewish kid who was captain of his debate team, so it was a bit of a Nazi joke. Everyone, Isaac included, thought it was funny until actual Nazis showed up.

My brother's gaming handle was Mein_Kopf for a while. It was an in-joke among friends about the family trait of giant, Ted Koppel sized heads. He changed it after some guy named AdolfHitler88 invited him to join a group chat.
Personally I feel sorry for everyone born in 1988, who have adopted a joebloggs88@gmail.com email address and who are immediately judged by me when they I see them email

Agreed about Borges, but I took the Old Man and the Sea reference to be a joke about Hemingway being a Communist.
