All you really need is for Bond to arrive at MI6 and have someone say "I heard you were dead" and have him say "You heard wrong" that's it.

That unstoppable force? Stupidity. That immovable object? A different type of stupidity.

Solution is simple: James Bond is a ghost now, he protects the UK and World from ghost villains. This also allows them to start doing cold war espionage again. Ghost tech is like 80 years behind ours.
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:

“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."

Warm Glühwein on a cold day is very nice. A nice de-stressor for a chaotic few days. Its not just the shutdown stuff but that certainly didn't help. Rough time at work and helping my Mom move a bunch of stuff in her garage and attic.

The Epstein Files is a powerful political attack for reasons that aren't entirely clear, but people should get used to the idea that we're not going to get a magical document that topples the regime and forces them all to flee the country.
That’s all fine. For the most part. And I agree that the Epstein Files (which have been substantially mitigated) are worth a small scale political long-term play / gain.

As long as we all realize “The Epstein Files!!” Is a gambit not an actual thing.

Honestly starting to get disturbing how much Microsoft wants us all to start talking to our computers. Do they just not remember that Alexa ended up ‘failing’ despite all the effort Amazon put in to give them away? Or are they just ideologically opposed to computers being computers?

Worried Lord Businessman saw this and blocked me not realizing I was agreeing with him. He deactivated occasionally though so maybe it’s okay.
Good to know I can rely on the people I can rely on, when the people I expect are doing what I expect.

Overheard some people talking about an “Orange motherfucker,” unclear who, and that “every night I pray” for what I did not hear, but a smile crept up upon my face regardless.

It's weird for me since I was the one saying that there was a good faith attempt going on to negotiate when Schumer came out, and leaned heavily towards believing a deal was happening when I saw it. Though this is in the context of me seemingly understanding how bad things were getting.
So just to be clear, the arc of this evening went:

- it’s not happening, you’re stupid to believe this is happening

- okay so they’re talking about it, but it’s not actually going to happen

- okay so it’s happening and here’s why that’s good, actually

imo if this is the case i think this is a sign the squish caucus grew large enough to 60 but didn't win over leadership

I'm not saying this is a good deal, or even that Dems are making the right call by being adults in the room. What I am saying is that people are really just choosing to actively ignore the growing costs of the shutdown and not even let it factor into their thinking.

Man feels like a lot of people are in deep denial about what a Government shutdown actually does, and what it continuing onward actually means. Lot of people treating it like it's just a super cool political maneuver, one weird trick, and not something that is causing real world tangible harms.

people are correct that there are other mechanisms by which he can impose tariffs when this one gets nuked, but all of them are significantly more of a pain in the ass than just posting random numbers on Truth Social and it is going to make him lose his entire mind even more than it already has
somebody's been informed he's losing the case

right, like, if you pay attention to the youth wing of the normie right parties, they are uhhhhh, not a good look for the future of society
The state of conservative youth politics is so fucking bleak. Even in Australia, all the Young LNP people are swimming in the same rancid sewer as the Groypers. The fascist internationale is all too real.

I personally don't hate Funko Pops as a individual product, don't own any, but sort of like them, and might have gotten one in theory, however I hate them a product in the aggregate. They've taken over merch, taken over so much shelf space. Watched GameStop stop selling oldgames for this shit.
Funko admits “substantial doubt” it can continue as a going concern amid crashing sales and mounting debt.

The Pop! maker warns of potential loan defaults without fresh funding or a buyout, after a 14% sales drop and $250M in obligations.

Not sure I like that this is getting to a place where any end to the shutdown, which cannot continue indefinitely and will only cause worse and worse consequences as time goes by, is likely to be seen by some as a cave.

It's impressive how all of these guys give off a different weird little freak vibe. I knew there were different types of weird little freak, but seeing five different types in one picture, fascinating.

I think “planning” died a month and a quarter ago somewhere around “heheh they’ll start blaming the Democrats and confirm our mandate for a Thousand Year Reich any minute now”
so, the plan is to ruin thanksgiving, ruin christmas, make everyone’s lives harder, all stick, no carrot, and then… what? january 2026: “hey, we are the party that ruined fucking everything, let’s talk about the new year!”
Buddy if this goes into 2026 there isn’t gonna be a federal government left to reopen.

If you want to see how diminished the boss is now, consider that he would not have let this shutdown continue for so long and would have "made a deal."

But he can't negotiate, he can't impose his will, and he doesn't have competent people on his staff or in Congress.
I don't think people fully realize how brutal a vise Republicans are in now. If they cave tomorrow Democrats get all the credit for giving people healthcare. If they somehow bypass the filibuster they get a year plus of headlines about ripping people's healthcare away.
"Republicans are keeping the government closed, starving kids, and making you miss your Thanksgiving flights because they want your healthcare costs to go through the roof" is actually a pretty effective message for Democrats

This is one of those things where people seemed to have glommed on loosely to the interviews about the book and not the book itself which was largely about how Appalachian culture was rotten and the people lazy.
Shapiro: He rose to some prominence by writing a book about growing up in Appalachia, where there are a whole lot of people who get SNAP. He made millions of dollars off telling their stories, and then he turned his damn back on those very people he likes to write about and claim as his own.
November 7, 2025 at 10:16 PM
So uhh looking around it does seem like some people aren't able to wrap their mind around the idea that shutdowns cannot and should not go on indefinitely, and/or, that Dems cannot be blamed for ending the shutdown if they get what they have been demanding.
