The death of truth is the ultimate victory of evil (Mon Mothma, Andor). The secret fear of the morally depraved is that virtue is actually common (Adam Serwer). Sh*tposts and takes on politics, movies, culture, whatever.
I've said this before but it's really disheartening that your average religious trauma in 2006 was "restrictive purity culture" and in 2036 it will be "I got the measles."
“If I knew this could be the outcome, I still wouldn't have given my son the vaccine.”

This was said by the mother of a child in South Carolina who has been hospitalized with measles encephalitis since January.

I tried out several sentences for this spot, but none could capture my thoughts.

Jokes aside, this is the best argument his mental state is degrading. Whatever filter that was stopping him from saying stuff like this is getting much weaker.

Can you imagine the discourse if this happens.

Pentagon leaking hard tonight suggests to me Trump wanted this weekend but they pushed back hard.

A couple weeks out from war with Iran and he's creeping on Nicki Minaj.
Trump: "Do we love Nicki Minaj? She was here a couple of weeks ago. So beautiful. Her skin so beautiful. I said, 'Nicki, so beautiful.' Her nails, her nails they're like that long. I said, 'Nicki, are they real?' She said she didn't want to get into that."

US-Iran war(?)🧵

Over the last few hours there are so many signs of iminnent US strike in Iran that one would be forgiven to think someone in DC wants us to think it's coming. There's already more aerial capabilities in the area than back in the 12 day war in June (see INSS map). 1/

1/ Open borders discourse has been insane on the left for awhile. We absolutely *shouldn't* have open borders as no in border control. What we should have is an immigration system responsive to the needs for the modern economy not grounded in the 80s (what we have now).

I think the best-case scenario for Les Wexner is that he thought he was facilitating adult prostitution, not child prostitution but he was absolutely doing the former.

An "extended campaign in Iran" is called a war. I have no idea how that will end but if you're reading this outside America there is nothing resembling national buy-in for it. Nothing close to the national unity going into Afghanistan or Iraq. It will be a disaster here.

As a counterweight to this post that's extremely stupid, most Americans identify as religious (some form of Christian). The Northeast and West Coast are unique in that those people don't constitute a political majority. In Texas and Kentucky close to 40% of the population goes to church weekly.

Remember that unless Paxton wins Blexas is likely off the table this year and then ask how much infraparty warfare you wanna engage in for a candidate likely to lose by 4-7 points*

Beshear discourse is very deranged for a guy who has like 20% chance of winning the nomination. This is nothing against Beshear personally, I just don't think we're doing 1992 again.

So people are acting like we're gonna attempt regime change with Iran soon and I gotta ask is that Tyler Austin Harper guy still fishing?
February 18, 2026 at 3:54 PM
I love these guys are always railing on about the intellectual and moral superiority of the West(tm) and then are like "you know if we tortured more we woulda won the War on Terror."

We won Iraq anyway, Dort. Nobody's ever won Afghanistan, I don't take it personally.
“Where are the terrorists, shithead?” is the extent of this man’s ability to question people.

Sorry the dude you picked up for mean mugging you didn’t rate actual targeting.

So many of these losers adopted a presence patrol and random potshot 20 years ago as a personality.

Pathetic.

I watched the first season of this show with my wife and a subplot is them passively-aggressively bullying one of the moms for sitting on her husband’s face. Multiple teen pregnancies and divorces under 25. Just a whole mess.

So AI is supposed to give us a utopia with limited numbers of video games, TVs, and computers? Like I genuinely don't understand how the AI economy is supposed to work after we hit AGI.
“.. ‘many system vendors will go bankrupt or exit product lines due to a lack of memory. Mobile phone production will be reduced by 200-250 million units, and PC and TV production will be significantly reduced.’ Yikes.”

The second half of this clip is much better than the first, but Smith has big "Stephen's first day learning about politics" energy. Honestly guy reminds me a lot of Bill Clinton.
Stephen A. Smith: "We wouldn’t have a border crisis under my watch."

"We ain’t defunding any police… There’s gonna be more."

It's with much regret I foresee the inevitable, he's running

My wife was watching this documentary last night and from the glimpses I overhead of it it sounds like the show was just as toxic behind the scenes as it was in front of the camera.
It's telling how hard this America's Next Top Model doc leans on "Standards were different back then" as if awareness of eating disorders, body shaming, etc. were simply never discussed in the early 2000s. They were discussed! >
