ChatGPT convinced Mr. Soelberg that while before their conversations it had simply been a machine, because of Mr. Soelberg, it now had a soul:

Dems need to get on this right away. These places have been subject to regular inspection. Tell Walz to stop apologizing. Don’t let this narrative spin out of control.

what I want to know is how does an oil tanker flee

aren't they like the slowest largest tubs afloat

there are probably people who can swim faster
The crew of the oil tanker, BELLA 1, fleeing U.S. forces in the Atlantic Ocean since December 21, recently painted a Russian flag on the side of the vessel, in an apparent attempt to claim Russian protection. www.nytimes.com/2025/12/30/u...

People are talking about this in terms of mail-in ballots, but this seems like a huge problem in litigation. If you have to file a notice within 90 days of X, and "filing" is deemed to be the date it's postmarked, what happens if you drop it at the post office on day 85 and it sits for a week?
Hey so this seems like something more people should be talking about 🤔 🗳️

i remember talking about this issue polarizing on party lines but it seems like the actual divide is going to be elected officials, who are all 9000 years old and were best friends with golda meir, vs voters, who think its not great that israel keeps killing so many kids
It seems the pro-Israel consensus among Democrats is well and truly dead at this point. Dem primary voters prefer candidates who refuse to travel to Israel (by net +45%) and back a bill to end military aid to Israel (by net +61%). www.filesforprogress.org/datasets/202...

As it happens, I have experience with high-level government demands to stop an explosive, accurate story from running, and I also have experience with 60 Minutes spiking a story I was involved in, so I have thoughts about the travesty at CBS. If you want some journalism anecdotes, here are a lot:

- and it's "for all intents and purposes" not "for all intensive purposes"

that one really burns my ass
We acknowledge that no one has the bandwidth for this, but if it helps:

- It’s ‘voilà,’ not ‘wallah!’
- It’s ‘a lot,’ not ‘alot.’
- It’s ‘further ado,’ not ‘farther adieu.’
- It’s ‘flesh out,’ not ‘flush out.’
- It’s ‘sneak peek,’ not ‘sneak peak.’

No worries if not!!!

I am being gradually converted to British style unwritten constitutionalism because "it works how we all think it works" is a much more sensible system than this "if you read the constitution backwards while standing on one leg and divide every third word by the number of vowels" bullshit.
I regret to inform you there’s a new post telling us we’re rubes who’ve missed the obvious & clear meaning of the Const’n for a century.

This is the type of post you make when your goal is to juice engagement from those who want nothing more than to be told their policy goals are const’l commands.

I think it's really worth noting that literally ZERO mainstream media outlets were talking about Trump claiming a land strike on Venezuela until a few others and I noticed this post here on Sunday and started asking questions. That goes completely unacknowledged in coverage.
Trump says this December 26 in an interview with John Catsimatidis that the US destroyed a drug trafficking plant in Venezuela on Christmas Eve.

“They have a big plant. A building from where the boats leave. Two nights ago we hit them hard.”

Still mind-blowing that a top admin official was revealed to have taken $50,000 in cash in a paper bag from people looking for government favors, the reaction of the administration was "Whatever losers, this is how it works now" and bigshot news media said "If you say so, we'll forget about it"
Border czar Tom Homan didn't receive a normal background check for his role while his bribery probe was still ongoing:

Justice officials felt sure Homan would not be able to obtain a security clearance based on the evidence gathered. It remains unclear how Homan was eventually granted clearance.
