I'm broke so I took a job doing overnights in a kitchen and my body rejected those hours and that fluorescent lighting so profoundly that I'm in bed recovering with a massive headache and completely depleted energy. A reminder that even if you seriously need a job, some jobs just aren't for you.

On this Trans Day of Remembrance, I would have you remember that there are trans people alive who need your action now, not your reflective words later.

Remembering us is not enough.

I remember being at a protest against the SC ruling and a speaker mentioned that trans women could now be strip searched my male transport police. Looking around and just seeing the disgust on the faces of all the cis people there and hearing it expressed.
perhaps this is overly optimistic but I think there are a lot of people like that around. maybe they don't fully "get" the e.g. trans "issue" (my old man doesn't) but they are able to recognise us as full human beings and have a natural aversion to the attacks against us, against bullying full stop.

I feel like this is the era of everyone in power completely losing the plot and forgetting the long con they were supposed to be in on. The capitalist mental health system was always a thin veneer of genuine care meant to give people the bare minimum social support needed to get back to work

On this our saddest of days, not only should we remember those of us we have lost, but that we should renew our commitment to fight for a better world, where we can live without fear and hostility against us.

We have always been here, we are here, and we always will be here.

In some moments, I am tied to the idea that transition is about making me love myself more. But as I've progressed, I've realized the true point of it is to allow you to relax enough to love others more effectively.

Girl who's been on HRT 6 years: I'm sorry to say this but first year of transition is Hell

Me (beginning of transition): pfft yeah whatever, I'm built different

(One year later)

Me (several arrows protruding out of my back): I WAS NOT BUILT DIFFERENT! I WAS NOT BUILT DIFFERENT!

Last night I was telling the younger people in my Gundam Model building club about YMCA being a song about gay hookups. They had no clue. This is why it's important to have cross generational friendships, think of the things being lost to the ether.

After Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum rejected Trump’s offer to start U.S. strikes against cartels on Mexican soil...

men arrived in a boat at a beach in northeast Mexico and installed signs that say the U.S. Department of Defense is restricting access to the land

Reports @cbsnews.com
Warning signs appear on Mexican beach declaring area restricted by U.S. as Mexico rejects Trump offer to strike cartels
The signs read in English and Spanish, "Warning: Restricted Area," and had been declared restricted by "the commander."

Please understand that "reward people for being healthy", in health insurance, also translates to "punish people for being disabled."

The people who are most vulnerable, most in need, will be asked to bear higher costs, in many cases, pricing them out of accessing health care, into early graves.
Markwayne Mullin: "Reward people for being healthy. Think about this. Healthcare is the only industry that you're not rewarded for taking care of your responsibility. If you think about homeowners insurance, if you're within 500 feet of a fire hydrant, your insurance goes down."

I will die.

I cannot repeat this often enough. I require dialysis to live. It costs $1000 per treatment. I need treatment three times per week. Without Medicaid, I can't afford it. Without my treatment, I will die.

Republicans are trying to kill me.
Another name for this would be "pre-existing conditions," a way used to exclude disabled people from health care for decades in the US.

Understand, when you hear people talk about "rewarding the healthy" - these are policies that have a body count.

This is why I have zero patience for people who never shut up about the imaginary crime wave.

Seeing a homeless encampment is sad, unsettling, even disturbing. But you are not in danger, and what you're feeling isn't real fear.
When we talk about abuse and violence, I am struck by the chasm between people who have been legitimately afraid for their lives and people who have not. Once you cross, you can't go back, and no amount of empathy makes people who have not crossed understand.

Apparently P*ypal now asks for customer opinions on accounts sending invoices.
If you are paying an invoice to a nsfw artist, do NOT mention NSFW in any way, keep it blank even. you risk both your account and the artists.
